Today's pen is a Sailor Shining Blue 14k EF filled with Iroshizuku Shin Kai which is the best feeling ink I have tried with it. I don't know if the improved flow and smoothness is from the ink or because it's Day 11 of my 30 days using it for everything in an effort to get along with it... Maybe the nib is getting settled in? Or I am getting used to it? (The previous pen, with similar discomfort, took about 2 weeks and several inks before we began to get along.)

I will be working through more of the blue-blacks and dark blues I have on hand in the coming weeks in the quest for one which is The One.

Following your 30 day trial... 😀👍

For me it was a Sailor day too, but it's rare that I only use one pen....

So for Today:

Paper:  View Corona 52gsm

●  4 Sailor 1911Ls [M]

  • Sailor Shikiori Kin-Mokusei
  • Sailor Manyo Yamabuki
  • Sailor Manyo Fugi
  • Monteverde Fire Opal

●  JInhao X-159 [M]  Diamine Sargasso Sea

●  WingSung 639 [M]  Diamine Majestic Blue

~ Diamine Bilberry ink comparison between 2 pens ~

         JInhao X-159 [F]   &   Jinhao 9019 [M]

●  Jinhao X-159 [M]   Sailor Shikiori Nioi-Sumire

●  Waterman Boucheron [M]   J Herbin Cafe Des Iles

●  Gravitas #8 [F]   PR Naples

Paper: Claire Fontine Stationary 90gsm

●  Jinhao X-159 [M]  Mrs. Stewart's Laundry Bluing

It is a purple-blue translucent tone and amazingly gorgeous.

That is a really beautiful color.  I had no idea Pilot made pens in such colors.  I like how Pilots write but never considered buying one because I couldn’t get excited about black or burgundy.  Now I’m excited to look for interesting Pilots when we go to Japan this Spring!

Posting very late on Friday’s pen for the log book entry. It’s the Franklin-Christoph model 3 Iterum bluestone with a 1.1mm CC nib now on it so I can write more with it.

Just in is the Lamy 2000 in stainless. This one has a fine nib It will accompany my black Lamy 2000 with a medium nib. I will do a write-up comparing the two after I've spent some time with the stainless one.

As you can also see, I have room for one more Lamy at Maison de Plume. I'm not sure which Lamy should be on my list. I am not a fan of their vanishing nib models however.

A wonderful Lamy collection. What about a Aion?

Thanks!

I've looked at the Aion and it seems a bit on the boring side for a Lamy to me. All of the Lamy pens I have are distinct in their own right. Nothing else (except a copy) looks like a Safari/AL-Star/LX/Vista. Nothing else is as iconic as the 2000. Even the Studio with its propeller clip look like a Studio. Plus I have an Accent that is unique looking.

The Aion just looks like a pen. Not necessarily an exclusive looking Lamy pen. I'm guessing it writes well like a Studio. That's not a bad thing as I really like the Studio. I just want my "final" Lamy to be something that can stand up on its own merit with a Lamy personality.

I always post late. Today I used the new to me Levenger True Writer in Oceanic Gray with M nib, filled with Faber-Castell Garnet.

Having spent a wet Saturday afternoon sorting out a slightly scratchy nib, today it will be a Pelikan 140 with Diamine Onyx Black.

Today I plan to use

  • "repaired" Pelikan 120 (F nib, Flow-Aid enabled Oster Australis Tea) just to use up the ink
  • Newton Majestic (Uranagi nib, DeAtrementis Aubergine)
  • dinky old safety pen (writes like a F-EF, R&K Alt Goldgrun) (can't find the umlaut-U, sorry)
  • Noodler's Charlie FP (Platinum Lavender-Black).

Yes, the theme for today is purple and green. Unintentional, I swear.

Yesterday I used the Charlie FP, the Newton, and a YongShen 3013 (EF nib, Noodler's Navy).

Today, so far, it's been the recently restored Parker Deluxe Challenger, F(?) nib, with Pelikan 4001 Black; and the Pelikan M205 Blue Marbled, M nib, with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black.

I was using a Platinum modern make-i but the feed's got dried ink on it or something so I've had to clean it out with some washing up liquid and left it to soak overnight.

Have you looked at the Ideos?  It is a very distinct pen with the teardrop cross section.  I didn't get one myself because I prefer to post my caps.  The Ideos becomes REALLY long when you post it.

I'm a poster also. I looked at the stats. It is a pretty long pen.

Today’s Log Book pen is an Edison Beaumont in Molten Ores, with 1.1mm italic nib, filled with Diamine Ancient Copper. My log book is now a Leuchtturm 1917 lined notebook in Copper. The pen is much more beautiful in person.
