Hey, I'm not at the $350 level for pens.  Never MIND $6000.  Even my grail pen (a Y-o-L Viceroy Victorian Standard size, isn't at THAT price threshold...

I think I paid under $150 for the Cisele 75, with tax and shipping.  Unfortunately it's developed a taste for MB Jimi Hendrix ink.... :headsmack:  Which isn't QUITE unobtanium, yet....

Nope, I don't need another purple ink. Nope. Not gonna happen. You can't make me want it. Did you say unobtainium? ... Nope

Thank you, but for some reason I don't write with it often.  🤷‍♂️

Is there any reason why not?  How does it write compared to the other pens in your stable?  The Waterman has always been one of my grail pens, but it has been becasue of the visuals and because it is Waterman's highest-end pen. I'd only want to get one if it writes as well as it looks...

My dad collected watches. My favorite was a Chopard with loose diamonds inside the face. My mom called it my rattle. Unfortunately, Ithey stop working when I wear them.

Mine has a very bouncy nib.

Unfortunately I have a watch addiction as well and the point of entry is much higher.

I bought myself a Breitling Avenger Seawolf diver's watch back in 2002, and I shudder to think what it would cost today. I doubt I will ever be able to afford anything like that again in my life, but I also don't really feel the need to collect expensive watches (or expensive pens). One good watch is enough. I might want two Leonardo pens, but with stainless nibs, they are under $250, so definitely not in the rarified upper stratosphere of pricing.

My next pen will be the new TWSBI ECO-T Rosso that is shipping on October 31, though I will probably need to wait a bit before buying it. After that, a TWSCI ECO Black, and that will be it for me until I hit the lottery. I've been waiting a long time for a red ECO.

What pens am I using today? Same pens as always, four TWSBI ECOs. Although, I did briefly take out my uninked pre-Reunification (W. Germany) Pelikan M800 earlier today just to hold it, and write with no ink. The clear one will be replaced by the Rosso, and then get filled with black ink until I get the Black ECO, after which the clear one will become a floater/backup.

Mine started as a child. My dad was a watchmaker at the first Zales store.

I never saw the point of expensive watches.  I had a few Casio sports watches in high school and college, which had some nice features, but weren't horribly expensive.  Then the guy I dated on and off for a couple of years in college got me some high end Seiko quartz watch.  I said, "I HAVE a watch" and he said "But this one you don't have to wind!"  When the battery died (a few years after we broke up), I went to get the battery replaced and it was going to cost something like $125 US (yeah -- JUST for the battery!).  So the watch went in the trash and I went and bought another Casio sports watch at someplace like Target.... for IIRC under $30, and maybe under $25....

Nails have their place, but I totally get it if it’s not for your everyday.  I currently have one nail in use, and while I don’t hate it, it’s not my favorite. It’s too bad, because it’s such a stunner.  Maybe if you find yourself having to fill out carbon forms it will be useful.

Today’s pen is the Asvine V169 F nib, with Waterman Florida/Serenity Blue. This is a bit of a heavy nail. Pretty, but not comfortable, the skeleton cuts into my hand a bit.

I have no clue why they chose that name, something’s lost in translation, probably. It’s a bit weird. I only have two Waterman’s: one is a 52 and the other a low end ‘40s pen with a lovely nib. I wonder when they started with the nail nibs?

Today it's been a couple of Parker Vectors: the reboot design "Looney Toons Tasmanian Devil", F nib, with Platinum Classic Forest Black; and the newest acquisition: the "Flowers" pen, M? nib, with Robert Oster Cult Blue.
