A newly acquired black Pilot VP w/ M/B nib. It may be a stub but at the moment it doesn't seem stubbish!

I’m using my new Platinum 🌺 pocket pen. It’s inked with Platinum Green and is so cute. It has a very fine and bouncy 14k nib, I have to measure the line width to know exactly how fine it is. large.IMG_0390.jpeg.d7fb397a5465f2a788fa5fbbb0ed940c.jpeg

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Still using my TWSBI Eco blue and my Waterman Phileas. I always use all the ink before I start a new pen. 😁

Today seems to be a Pelikan Day.

Used the M405 Stresemann, B nib, with Edelstein Rose Quartz earlier for the MP journal entry, and need to write some bills to get mailed later, so I've got the Pelikan M405 Blue Black, EF nib, with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black with me now.

I get my Parker parts from Five Star Pens, if you decide to go that route. I can say that having a nibmeister tune and grind my pens has made them more useful to me. I have had a 144 B ground into an italic and it has not left my desk since. My Parker 51 was scratchy and balky and is now such a good writer. They don’t always look like it, because the tip is so tiny and obscured by the hood, but they can have a lot of tipping material left.

I suppose I should thank you for sharing this website as I seem to have bought a Parker 51 Aerometric in Demi size. I must wait for the next email to know. It’s the burgundy color version.

That sounds like a very pretty pen. What nib size? I saw a loose 51 stub nib on ebay.

@Penguincollector I believe it’s a fine nib. My brother was here, and brought three of his vintage pens. He used the Parker 51 Aerometric the most. He took it to sign logs when we went geocaching. He bought a vintage Pelikan while here, which I have one. So the website you shared had the best price. That let me buy a vintage Parker before I took him to the airport.

Well that sounds so cool. I wonder if there are two. I’d like one, and I’m sure my brother might as well.

Edit: looked at eBay. The one I saw costs more than the pen I bought. Yikes!

Day 20 of my 30 days with a Sailor Snowmoon 14k MF and It is writing better.  Or have I adapted to it? I am beginning to think my problem with some nibs is that I write with a touch that is too light and it takes a lot of writing for a nib to settle in.

So now I'm thinking I will follow this with the Sailor Profit Light Shining Blue which has a 14k EF nib - I use it with a commonplace book, but only for short notes and don't love it. Yet.

Maybe it's just me and Sailor's gold nibs? I commented on another thread a few minutes ago about loving the Lecoule. I have two - a brown and a blue - and wrote with almost nothing else for months this year because they are so comfortable. It was that which made me put them away and get the Snowmoon out for a 30 Day Thing - either get the hang of it or give up. It seems I'm getting the hang of it.

Edit to add: and what's with the blue pens? Prior to this year I hadn't bought any and now have four.

Will work for pens...

I keep finding black pens in the wild.  And I'm not -- by ANY stretch of the imagination -- a member of the Black Pen Society....

I hear ya. I have 17 black pens and I'm NOT a black pen guy. 🤔

Oh, I have so many black pens, I can't even count them. Mainly Japanese pens, such as a Sailor Realo (when they only came in black) to a Pilot Falcon (ditto) and a Montblanc 22.

Oh well.

But I do have lots of colorful pens too!

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "EF" nib running Birmingham Railroad Spike

Leonardo Officina Italiana Mosaico Anemone "F" nib running Diamine Autumn Oak

Pineider Tempi Moderni "EF" nib running Montblanc Racing Green
