what a lovely pen! (and an amazing watch!) one question I have what ink is the nearly dark orange brown under the lower cap ring? I was looking at the rest of your collection and its amazing, we both have an interest in pens and watches!  I hope to have some of the watches you have one day my next watch is probably  going to be an Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. I will try post a photo of some of my pens and watches when I get home

Thanks! I mislabeled the ink in the picture. It's Noodler's Apache Sunset. Although not overly practical it's a gorgeous ink. The other two inks are Diamine Claret and Scarlet respectively.

The Omega Speedy Pro is my all-time favorite watch. I had an Apollo 11 30th Anniversary back in 2000. I also had a standard Speedy Pro and just loved that watch. It is truly the only watch anyone could ever need if one is inclined to only have a single watch.

In my second wave of collecting after some time off after selling a very large collection of 100 watches and owning over 300, I made a pact to myself that I wouldn't own watches I had owned previously until I had exhausted other opportunities. I'm at that stage now that I might revisit the Speedmaster Professional. I would happily pair down a portion of my current collection to get it. The Connie in the picture is a keeper though. I'm a fan of two-tone watches and am an Omega fanboy. Over the 35+ years of collecting I've probably had more Omega watches than any other. Although I think I only have two right now.

As for the pen? It is the first generation (possibly first year) Pelikan M600. Which was a special edition of the M400 and was the same size before the M600 became its own separate model and grew in size. I absolutely love the look of the pen.

Oh great I might check that out! currently I've only just started my fountain pen collection and am just starting out with a few inks with a Monteverde Canyon Rust and a Robert Oster Thunderstorm.

Oh wow thats an awesome watch! I completely agree its my all time favourite too! I've got my eye on the brand new sapphire sandwich that came out recently but its going to take a while to save up for that one... I completely agree with you on that point it truly is perfect for anything.

Oh yea 300 watches is a ton! I plan to keep my collection around 10 or 20 at most as most of my 5 watches currently have sentimental value and I can't sell them. I agree that watch looks amazing and matches perfectly with the beautiful Pelican M600.

Don't worry about taking your time. The Speedy has been around for over 70 years and is one of the most iconic watches of all time. You might look at picking up one of the previous generation Speedies as they are significantly less expensive. Especially compared to a brand new one with the Co-axial. The 1861 Speedy Pros are just as amazing as the newest versions. PLUS, you can mod a solid caseback one with a display back. I prefer the hesalite over the sapphire crystal as it is more inline with the original Moonwatch variants. The choice is yours of course.

This morning’s pen is a Platinum PK-1000 inked with Platinum Blue-Black, which I found I like less than Pelikan/Cross or Parker BB. This morning’s watch is the iWatch series 8.

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

Today it's been the Red Shadow Wave Vacumatic, F? nib, still with its usual fill of Waterman Mysterious Blue.

That Cross pen looks similar to the Cross "Solo"?

@Rita8 and @Baka1969 your white pen photos are making me want to clean out the TWSBI Diamond Mini version 2 white and rose gold, so it can be refilled.  And to post a pen and watch photo.

Did you keep the Apollo 11 30th anniversary watch?  (I do hope so.)

@Baka1969 I have it drying now, after cleaning. I need to decide on an ink.

Most of my watches are inexpensive and analog. I recently got a new Casio, which is digital.  It’s the one likely to be in a photo. My favorite watch is an Elgin that has a Moon phase function. All my watches need batteries except of course the new one.

Oh yeah, the G-Shock. I looked at the Casio subreddit, and saw lots of those. The two watches my Dad last had were Casio G-Shock that he charged in his bedroom window.

Partly why I got the Casio LF-20W-5A was for the analog clock face, and partly because my Dad wore Casio watches. So, here are two new pens, one that arrived about 15 minutes ago, and the Casio. The Kaweco Sport is the Bordeaux version, and the new pen is a Pilot Elite in (burgundy) deep red and gold. Both have M nibs. Though my favorite nib is the 1.1mm stub or italic. The Elite came from a Japanese store on amazon.

@Baka1969 I copied it off someone on Reddit. That’s where I learned of the watch, though what made me look at the post was the Kaweco. I’ve been on a Kaweco buying spree. The Pilot Elite became intriguing because it’s also a pocket pen, but a very different one. The price was nearly half of the US import E95S, so I impulsively bought it. I’m glad I did. All three in the photo arrived this week. The watch arrived on my birthday, so it became my gift to me.
