My first watch at age 7 was a Mickie Mouse watch.  My second watch at age 13 was a Bulova.  I don't think Bulova watches were high-end in 1960-61.

A friend of my brother's growing up inherited a Bulova watch from I think his grandfather.  Kenny didn't realize until years later, when he saw some ad on TV I think, that it was actually a fairly high-end brand.

The Bulova Lunar Chrono is one of their better watches. I've been collecting watches since the 1980's. I've had more than I can remember. That model Bulova is one of onbly two brands that were worn on the moon. Not too shabby.

Below is the current lineup of watches.

Currently, I have five watches.  A military issue dive watch, another dive watch, a military issue field watch, an Australian Army commemorative watch, and a Railway pocket watch.

I had a Wittenauer chronometer that I wore in all three years I was in Vietnam during the war that went missing in the late 1980s.  I wish I still had it.

I used a Kaweco-Galen Leather collaboration Sapphire blue transparent Sport with a 1.1mm stub nib filled with KWZ Sapphire ink. Got it today.

From one vet to another, thank you for your service. Nice watches there.

The pen on the left is a Duke Bamboo and the right one is an Opus 88 Koloro. The Opus 88 has a stub on it now but I also have fine, medium and broad nibs for it.

Thanks. I actually have a Duke Bamboo!  Should have known.  The Opus 88 looks very cool.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

The Duke I have writes fair enough. Hard starts often. I keep it purely for the aesthetic.

The Opus 88 is a sweet pen that writes very nicely. The medium nib is quite smooth. The Opus Stub is MUCH better than the Pilot Metro stub I have. Which is my biggest pen disappointment.

IIRC, the 395 had a softer nib which offered a little line variation. Have you "pushed" it at all?

I never thought to push it. I have a few stubs and flex nibbed pens that give me the line variations I look for. Plus I have a couple of soft gold nibs I push a bit. Maybe when I try the 395 again I'll give it a shot? Thanks.

I’m using my black Parker 45 Arrow with an older black Quink cartridge that flows way better than the modern version. No hard starts with this one!

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

Today it's been the Estie SJ nurse's pen, still with modern Quink [Permanent?] Blue. But I haven't had much chance to use a pen, other than  for the journal entry, today -- too much of my time has been spent running errands and then being shunted from department to department (complete with a lot of finger-pointing) with the local water authority as to who is to blame for NOT notifying us that they were going to be flushing the lines on my street today.... 🤬  And by looking up/reporting a suspected spam call which came in WHILE I was on the phone with the water people....

I quit looking up calls.  I expect they will leave a voice message if they really want me to talk to me, or if it is important.

Today I received a present, a Montegrappa Parola fine in white

I haven't found the right paper yet

Clairefontaine does'nt really work because a fountain pen sometimes skips a beat on it, so to speak

Does anyone has advice about good paper?
