Today it's been the Silver Pearl Vac Major, F(?) nib, with vintage Quink Permanent Violet; and the white Esterbrook SJ, 1555 Gregg nib, with modern Quink Permanent Blue.

My Log book pen was a TWSBI Eco in sunset orange with a Nemosine 1.1mm stub nib filled with Robert Oster Orange Rumble ink. And once the CR Gibson Bulleting Log book runs out of pages, Leuchtturm will takes its place. I’m thinking of putting the label they include in front with Log Book on it. The JottBooks have four labels with colors on them that would also look good on the A5 hardcover versions.

Hey G-Man,

NIce Pen !  🙂👍  I always wanted one, but never got around to pulling the trigger.

How do you like the Murex?  Is it F, M or B?   How does it write?  Ink, paper?  Converter or refilled cartridge?

Me Today:

I read that someone bought Edelstein Sapphire and Edelstein Topaz just for the Mix, so I thought I'd try it too.  6 drops of each into an inkwell.   It made a nice "regular blue" ink that was unquestionably dry, but nothing special.

Then I wondered what an Iroshizuku Asa-Gao and Iroshizuku Ima-Iro mixture would look like.  So I sucked up the ink in the inkwell with a Jinhao X-159 converter, stuck it in the pen and put it aside. Then 6 drops of Asa-Gao and 6 drops of Ama-Iro into the inkwell.  Well blow me down, it was almost the exact same color as the Edelstein mix, but it was wet rather than dry, so there was a slight line width difference.  I wrote a few lines with it and the color reminded me of Tsuyu-Kusa so I took out the Tsuyu-Kusa and compared a few lines of it with the Iroshizuku mixture.  Same color.  Leave it to Iroshizuku to have covered all the bases.  They thought of mixing those colors to come up with another shade, something I  think Edelstein must have tried but decided not to market.  Tomorrow I'm going to try Sailor Shikiori Nioi-Sumire and Sailor Manyo Sumire, and I'm expecting to see a very similar shade, and after seeing what Pilot did, my guess is that Sailor did the same.

THIS IS THE BEST I COULD DO WITH MY CELLPHONE

I have a blue Lamy Al-Star with 1.5mm stub and a Platignum Regal with broad oblique italic, both filled with Noodler's Baystate Blue, and a Wing Sung 630 with steel broad nib and a bellyful of Parker Quink permanent blue.

Thanks for posting the results of your ink blending efforts. Also, I like your use of the FP nib in a dip pen body.

Inkwell looks interesting as well.

Oh yes, the Murex writes a fine, slightly medium line. I kind of like it 🙂

Thanks for asking.

Very sweet looking Pelikan you have there, Pakman!

Today it's been the King Phillip Purple Noodler's FPC, flex nib -- newly refilled with Birmingham Point Park Fountain Turquoise; and the white Esterbrook SJ nurse's pen, 1555 Gregg nib -- still with modern Quink Permanent Blue.
