In order:

vintage Onoto -- now out of ink

vintage Wyvern -- also now out of ink

Onoto Highland green Scholar -- almost out of ink.

I think I need to clean and re-ink a few pens.

Paul,

congratulations on the empty pens.

As a former ef user (almost exclusively, I experienced very long use times when I used my pens. Probably wasted lots of ink because I was impatient and didn't want to just write more. It also took a while (LOL) for me to think of not filling up the converter every time.

Ta!

The Onoto Scholar and the previously unmentioned Kaweco Special were filled 2 and 10 months ago respectively. Amazingly, the slender Kaweco never had a dry nib in all that time despite only being used infrequently.  It's my bedside pen.  The Scholar on the other hand, was used almost daily.

Two Sailor pens today.

- An EF Profit Shining Blue with Sailor Blue Black is paired with my Hobo (it ousted the Platinum Plaisir).

- And a Snowmoon MF with Sailor Black wrote a bunch of journal pages before dawn.

Yes, that early... cos I'm working in the garden from first light until it's too dark to see. I was trying to write in the evening, but it didn't work - I was skipping days or making a half-hearted effort because I was too tired. And they're meant to be Morning Pages! Trying this new regime hoping for a happier me.

Will work for pens...

Today the only I pen I got to use was my YStudio Classic Revolve Portable in F, inked with Diamine Earl Grey. I keep this around my neck at work and it’s a fantastic companion pen!

Today I've used my new Platinum preppy blue black 0.3 with Platinum carbon black, I like this pen the best for writing usual things, I bought this one last thursday, with two 0.2's [one of these writes finer than the other..] for my A5 journal. I also filled the 0.2's with Platinum carbon black, then I thought, maybe I would like to write in blue too sometimes so today I've ordered a Platinum preppy blue black 0.2 and a Platinum preppy blue black 0.3 with Platinum pigment blue.

Platinum carbon black&Platinum pigment blue are both archival and waterproof.

I'm using mostly my Newton Pens Orville C "F" nib running  Birmingham Streetcar. I am impressed with my Newton pen - it lays down a nice, smooth line and never fails me when I uncap it (unlike my Montegrappa). I am also impressed by the Birmingham line of inks (so far); this one is a nice color and unproblematic.  Go Pittsburgh!

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "EF" nib running Birmingham Railroad Spike

Leonardo Officina Italiana Mosaico Anemone "F" nib running Diamine Autumn Oak

Pineider Tempi Moderni "EF" nib running Montblanc Racing Green

Stipula Suprema Foglio d'Oro "M" nib running Van Dieman's Royal Starfish

Today I wrote 14 A5 pages with my trusty Pelikan M600 Violet-White B inked with Robert Oster’s Cosmic Swirl. I really like how this ink seems to change colour as it dries — it’s beautiful.

Wishing @AmandaW a happier self.  She is working hard on outdoor areas to comply with wildfire safety.

Today’s lucky pen is the Pelikan M400 White-Tortoiseshell M — I call her Greta. Greta is currently filled with Robert Oster’s Grün Schwarz. When I first tried this ink last week as a possible substitute for the Iroshizuku Hoteison that I LOVE, I felt like it was close in colour but lacked the magic. But today I’m starting to think maybe Grün Schwarz has some magic after all.

Blue Parker Slimfold M, Diamine Beau Blue. This ink might be a good candidate for whoever is looking for a light blue that won’t show up in copies, as it’s a really light shade.

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Parker 88 Place Vendôme IB, Diamine Golden Sands

Salz Peter Pan 18k gold filled filligree fine flex, Waterman Serenity Blue

Pilot Silvern Dragon IB, Iroshizuku Kiri-Same

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery
