My Cross Sauvage Year of the Rat writes soo well!  I wish Cross would continue making fountain pens with their yearly special editions.

Erick

I agree.  As far as I know that fountain pens have an excellent Sailor nib.

Yeah, I have a couple of Cross Solos, and at least one of them is marked "Made in Japan" and for being probably lower end pens they are REALLY nice writers.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I'm having my first Sailor nib disappointment. Saw the beautiful full-size Pro Gear Fujiyama in an email from Bungubox, and ordered it with a fine nib. The pen is beautiful, but the nib is horribly scratchy. My other Sailor fines writes smoothly with the typical Sailor pencil-like feedback. Fortunately, the Dallas Pen Show is coming up, and I will get one of the nibmeisters to fix it.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I’ve been really into my Pilot Custom 912 MS (Music) nib these past few days. Today I finished off the fill of Kobe #57 and refilled it with Dominant Industry Sunset.

Hey PGC

I looked up the BelAge and saw a few versions of that pen.  Which one do you have?  Is UEF the nib?

I have the blue lacquer version with the plain clip and a 14k Ultra Extra Fine nib. It’s very similar to a Sheaffer Fashion II in looks.  I don’t have a picture of just that pen to hand, but it looks like the one in this link (but in better condition):

Platinum BelAge

It’s a bit stiff compared to the older Platinum pens I have, but that fine line works well with my Penguin scratch writing.

Today’s pen is a black Parker 45 Arrow F octanium, with Quink black from the late 20th century.

Today's pen is a newly arrived vintage Onoto plunger filler. (a first for me) with a semi-flexible medium nib.  Now loaded with Diamine Oxford Blue (what else?) it is a joy to write and provides a genuinely medium line.

I think the nibs, if not the whole pens, were made by Pilot. Many moons ago I found that the nibs on my Solos were identical to the one on my Pilot Lucina. You can probably still find my append about this on FPN via Google.

I'm ready to ink some different pens, I can't seem to get these that are inked to run out of ink! LOL

Visconti Voyager with a two chamber power filler (huge ink capacity!)

Fake Mont Blanc with a captured converter and

Parker 75 Independence Hall edition with a squeeze converter (xf nib may have something to do with this)

Going to scribble with all of them today and see if I can get one or more empty!
