And that's my only pen activity for some time. I've been absent cos it's the time of year when I have to spend every daylight moment outside prepping for the fire season. Am exhausted the rest of the time. Last year I swore, with the onerous new rules, that it wouldn't be left til this late ever again. What I forgot was that the paddocks and gardens only grow at this time of year, doing it any earlier means doing it again. And I was unwell for several months through the winter. Sigh. That means I'm not looking at pens, certainly not buying

Ugh, it never entered my mind you’d have to do this every year. Doh!  I hope you are feeling better. Thank you for explaining your absence. I do look for your posts. Seeing someone who writes everyday has helped me with doing that. I can actually believe now that I will use all the Leuchtturm notebooks I’ve been buying from Home Goods and/or TJ Maxx.

My Log notebook pen today is a new pen from yesterday, a Pilot Prera Iro-Ai with blue cap and end filled with Diamine Presidential Blue.

An absolute beauty of a pen. My brother has one so I get to see it once in a while.

Thank you! I love it so much. It has flat tassies and is in such good condition. I was looking for just a regular ciselé when I saw it and couldn’t resist the siren call.

I had two pens run out of ink on me one after the other, so I have used 3 pens so far today: Sheaffer Targa 1003 M, five below pastel green M, and Asvine V169 F- which is still really full, so I anticipate writing with Waterman Florida/Serenity Blue for awhile.

Forest green aerometric Parker “51”, GF cap with thin vertical lines.  The filler says “To fill press ribbed bar firmly 6 times. Use dry-writing Superchrome ink."  Ink is a mystery, a very pale blue from when it was tuned. I’ve had this one for about 18 months and note more details every time I use it. I’m glad I bought a new desk lamp- I can see so much more than with the overhead light.

I spent the day note-taking for a research paper with favourite Wyvern pen inked with Blackbird Inks' Kingfisher Blue. It's one of two hooded nib pens in my collection, and the only one of the type that I enjoy using.

What kind of desk lamp did you get?

  • A Wing Sung 630 (M) Pelikan Blau-Schwarz
  • A Jinhao 9019 (M)  Diamine Jack Frost.
  • [I wasn't using the Platinum President, it's there for a size comparison]

Paper:

  • Cosmo Snow 75gsm,
  • Sanzen Tomoe River 52gsm,
  • View Corona 52gsm [one of the few papers, besides Clairefontaine and Rhodia, that can handle the flow of my Pelikan M1000]

Today it's been the Dove Grey 51 Vac, F? nib, still with Robert Oster Sydney Lavender; and the white Estie SJ (not sure if it counts as a "nurse's pen" or a "Pastel"), 1555 Gregg nib, with modern Quink Permanent (?) Blue.

I must say that for nibs with no tipping, both of my Esties with 1555 nibs are excellent writers.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Hi PMP... Two things I didn't know about.  The Wyvern Pen and the Blackbird Ink.  Is your Wyvern a 404?  Could you show a pic of the pen and the nib?  What paper are you taking notes on, anything special?  🙂👍

Yes, this Wyvern is a 404. The one coming (impulse buy) is a 690.

The paper I was using is a notepad given to me by an associate is also named Paul. It is heavy rough paper. While I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the gift the paper is not the best. I'm trying to use up the pad rather simply recycling it.

I'll post the requested photos later.
