Get on the Innovative Journaling site. He breaks down the papers he uses.  I'm not sure which this. It is cream color.

Today it's been three pens:

1) Lamy al-Star (Gold & Black SE, F nib) -- Robert Oster Astorquiza Rot.

2) Noodler's Konrad (Forbidden City, flex nib) -- Noodler's Heart of Darkness.

3) Sheaffer school pen (translucent red barrel, F? nib [nib is marked "304"]) -- Monteverde Ocean Noir.

Today's journal pen was a belated birthday gift. It's a grey AG Spalding & Bros filled with Diamine Grey. The nib doesn't say what it is, but mediumish... it was brung from America by young family members while traveling recently - and even says "520 Fifth Avenue New York"on the barrel. 🙂

And that's my only pen activity for some time. I've been absent cos it's the time of year when I have to spend every daylight moment outside prepping for the fire season. Am exhausted the rest of the time. Last year I swore, with the onerous new rules, that it wouldn't be left til this late ever again. What I forgot was that the paddocks and gardens only grow at this time of year, doing it any earlier means doing it again. And I was unwell for several months through the winter. Sigh. That means I'm not looking at pens, certainly not buying any, and only writing with what's already inked (you've seen all those, and too many of them, so writing them out is probably a good thing...) therefore not much to say. I do read when I can.

Hi LionE,  I wanted to ask you if you ever got that ink to dual shade.  I've tried with Fuji and  but I only get regular shading.  I know there's a green in there, but I can't get it to come out unless I wet the dried ink.  Also, what nib do you have on your KOP?

Funny, I'm sure I must have had one too but I can't remember that pen at all, but I clearly remember the Sheaffer cartridges for it.  Fond memories. 🙂

hi @USG, nope not with the kop medium nib, shades in blue but not other colours, the nib is still too fine for the green/pink shading.  for that, i use a really big nib like my kakimori brass nib.

Blue Parker Vector italic broad, swapped the Parker Penman Sapphire cartridge from the 15. The 15 wasn’t super happy with the ink.

Today it's been a couple of Noodler's pens: Noodler's FPC (King Phillip Purple, I think), flex nib, with Birmingham Pens Point Park Fountain turquoise; and

Noodler's acrylic Konrad (Forbidden City), flex nib, with Noodler's Heart of Darkness.

Today I’ve been putting my new Sailor Pro Gear Realo with M nib through its paces, and it is exceptional. It’s making me rethink a lot of my preferences.

Today I am using Ranga Samurai with a Jowo Broad nib and Lamy Blue Black ink (the pen on the rightmost in pictures). I got this pen recently, after gathering enough courage to add some colour to my Samurai collection.

Your new Samurai is very pretty, @rnjn. It reminds me of agate.

Rocking my EDC loadout today. My favorite by far is the A1. I’ve installed a Pilot nib assembly in it and capless works so much better with my lateral grip.

Second best is the Lightive, which has the ergonomic benefits of a full size pen but is extremely light and the Pilot steel nib is excellent.

The Kaweco I bought mainly to satisfy my curiosity and it’s fine but pales in comparison to the A1 and Lightive both in the hand and on the page.

The Prera would be my pick for a true inexpensive pocket sized pen over the Kaweco but I made the mistake of buying this one with a stub, which is too broad of a line for taking notes in my small EDC notebook and goes through way too much ink. I’m going to return this one, and I’d get a new one in a F but it’s redundant with the Lightive in my bag as they use the same nib and the Lightive fits my hand better.

An absolute beauty of a pen. My brother has one so I get to see it once in a while.

Today it's mostly been the the unknown model Senator "calligraphy pen", F nib,  I picked up yesterday at an estate sale.  Not sure what the ink in it is, but while it seemed to dilute to a dark purple when I went to flush the pen out last night,  it appears to go down on the page as black.  So I'm wondering if it's modern(ish) Skrip Black (now diluted of course with distilled water), since I picked up a bottle of it at the same sale.

Also used the M205 Blue Marbled, M nib, still with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black.
