It's a Mertz and Krell Pelikan. There are a number of threads around here on them.  Here''s some more information about the branding:

Here's a pic I had taken with some other pens a while back:

@inkstainedruth My records indicate it's Pilot Iro Tsukushi, but also that I found the pairing a little bit dry, so I might have switched it out after that and forgotten to note it.   But it probably is Tsukushi.  The nib says it's iridium.

Thank you for the additional information.

I will definitely watch for one of those Pelikans.

Are they available in colors other than the tortoiseshell?

I’m using my bouncy, groovy turquoise Platinum with Platinum pink. I’m guessing it’s from the ‘60s or ‘70s. It’s my first Platinum, and it’s not a stiff nib- which is what I always heard about the brand. (I have a Bel Age I haven’t inked yet, so we’ll see.) It writes a very fine line and once belonged to someone named Tsuchita (according to Yandex).

This is great.  Do they all have different nibs, or just different inks?

Today it's been the burgundy Snorkel Special, EF (I think) nib, with modern Skrip Blue; and the Parker 45 Flighter, B nib (one of the pens I got a week or so ago at an estate sale), with some unknown and reconstituted black ink.  It's sufficiently saturated, that I keep wondering if it's the same black ink I spent several months reconstituting and using -- and then spent a couple of weeks flushing -- out of the Parker 61 Flighter.

The singing brown marbled vintage Mentmore seems not be singing with the Binder Blackwa that @kestrelkindly sent my way!  I love the green undertones, too! So I'm using it!

It had never occurred to me to use a bit of tape to distinguish similar pens which caused me to keep buying multiple shades of a pen whenever I liked a style particularly well.  This is a very clever idea I might have to institute.  Is it washi tape to not mess with the finish?

What's SMF? Soft medium fine?

This looks like a very fun collection.  Enjoy!

The tape is 1/8 Whiteboard Tape from Amazon

I made a mistake on the Pilot 743 nib, it's a SFM (soft fine medium)  I really like the FA nibs but I wanted a softer regular nib that had a little more width than a Fine but not as wide as a Medium.  It's bouncy and wet but not like the FA nibs.

On another thread the subject wandered a bit, and the Geha 725 Goldschwing was mentioned.

It is an extremely sleek, thin medium-long classy black and gold  rolled gold trimmed pen. With great balance and a semi-flex nib.

So it jumped  up the to use list ....

And it balances so well in the hand.

With permission of Penboard.de...one of the grand beautiful inlaid nibs.

I find the two slightly curved lines of the clip add much to the classy looks. qWBcZxy.jpg
