Diplomat Epoque in a very 90s mottled orange lacquer called Indian Summer with a hard-as-a-nail and dry-writing M nib, that is a perfect match for the wet and dark blue-black of Herbin Bleu des Profondeurs

A brace of Parker 51's today.    1 in Burgundy with a F nib with Aurora Black, and the other in Navy Grey with a M nib filled with Diamine Damson (first time using this ink although I've had it for years.)  🤔

It's been a Parker day today:

1) Parker 61 Flighter, F? nib -- unknown (and diluted) black ink (suspect that I'm really going to have to break down and actually flush the pen soon).

2) Parker Vacumatic Red Shadow Wave -- Waterman Mysterious Blue.

Thank you very much! It's been a grail for a while! I ended up getting a blue one!

Congratulations TB719 on your new pen... 👍

I'm wondering if your pen is NOS or one of the newer opaque ones.

Can you see the ink level, is the barrel clear or is it opaque?

I replaced the broken barrel in the pic below and the new one was opaque.

Thank you very much! They say you learn something new every day! I didn't know that's how they were differentiated! I can clearly see through the barrel more towards the back (the filling mechanism area). I put a dark ink in it this morning so I'm not sure if I can see through the top by the section, but I presume it would be the same throughout the barrel, so I guess I have NOS (I very well could be wrong as this is my first Pelikan). Thanks! Is there any way I can narrow down a date further?

A MaJohn (Moonman) A1 that I rinsed, and filled with De Atramentis Robert Koch or Adular Blue.

The pen is writing better with the DA ink versus the Pelikan 4001 blue black I first put in it. I’d have trouble with that ink. The pen wouldn’t want to write.  I’d have to rinse the nib.

Started the day with a green no-name French pen with an accordion sac and a very soft 18k Edacoto cursive italic nib that I was testing with Waterman Intense Black, but I’ve just run it out of ink. So, now I’m moving on to a gold-plated Diplomat Attaché from the 1980s with a hard steel M nib that has turned out to be fun with the Diamine Purple Rain I got from my pen club Secret Santa late last year.

Is this pen made from a Mutt blank - who made it?

This was a Franklin Christoph Dromgoole's exclusive.  The material is Jonathan Brooks "Whiskey River".

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The accordion sac was a cool concept. How is it in practice?
