I’m writing with my long navy Sailor Fude de Mannen  inked with Diamine Ultra Green. I use a fude nib for line variation by changing the angle at which I hold the pen.

Top 5 of 19 currently inked pens:

Sailor x Daimaru Central Rockhopper Penguin PGS mini, Sailor Wonder Blue

Just one pen here - a Platinum Carbon Desk Pen EF with Platinum Carbon ink - and an awful lot of cottonbuds/q-tips... and I can now find any of my samples easily. The numbers are listed in a searchable text file as well as on the swatches. And while I was at it made labels for the tops of all the ink bottles stored in drawers - cos looking down at blank lids is not helpful!

Will work for pens... :unsure:

Hhhmmmm... does a black Bic Cristal 1.6mm bold tip with EZ Glide ink count? :unsure:

This may be treason, but I really am surprised how smooth these pens are for a standard, traditional bp.

I'm not enjoying my Plumix Med at the minute. It's writes way too dry.  I'm going to remove the cart and fit a converter with Aurora Black, if that doesn't work it's going in the bin.

:yikes:

If you no longer want it, IMO you shouldn’t just ‘file it in the circular filing cabinet’, but might instead consider offering it as a ‘PIF’ here.

Someone on here/‘out there’ might love to receive it.

Today, I am using:

Parker Duofold Junior (1960s, made in England), vintage-‘M’ (similar to modern ‘F’) nib - ‘running on fumes’ of ESSRI;

Pilot Metropolitan, ‘CM’ nib - cartridge of Pilot ‘Blue/Black’;

Pelikan M805, ‘F’ nib - Pelikan Edelstein ‘Sapphire’.

I don’t know if it’s technically treason, but it does prompt (ok, trigger) me to reply with

Possible solutions include a wetter ink and/or taking out the nib -feed and widening the ink channel. The ink/feed assembly is a friction feed so it comes out and re-inserts easily (when done carefully). You could also replace the nib with something sharper - a fine or medium.

If that doesn't work, don't bin it, offer it (for postage) here on FPN for someone else to fiddle with.

Sorted.  I'd tried 3 different makes of cartridges in the pen with the same result. I originally thought it was a Pilot  only cartridge, but here in the UK they use small SIC.  Despite flushing the pen a number of times it wrote 'dry'.  I flushed the pen again, and found a converter in one of my Chinese pens that would work. I'm not sure whether the feed needed to have ink drawn through it, to 'prime' or 'load' it, or the pen just likes Aurora Black (I don't possess a pen that doesn't like Aurora Black🙂)  Either way, the pen writes exactly the way I think it should.

Just in case this actually works this time, I am now asking you to watch as I subtly wave my hand across from your left to your right, and to listen very carefully as I ever-so-casually intone the phrase this is not the pen that you wanted….

You will then pay even closer attention as I wave my hand again, and intone you will sell this pen to me, for £5 (plus postage-&-packaging).

This will, surely, work!
I mean, I’ve even actually got an English accent….

😉

Srsly tho, that is a beauty, and I congratulate you on its purchase 👍

Plumix Med Italic with Aurora Black.

I won't mention the Pilot G2EX that I didn't really mean to pick up :blush:

It was just 'to hand'..... on account of the 'roasting' corniche got for mentioning a BP 😲

Today's journal pen is a Lamy Safari Candy Violet F loaded with Troublemaker Milky Ocean (from a sample). It is such a pretty ink colour, but oh boy, it's dry. You can see it in the photo - just above the end of the clip - I gave up and added a drop of Photo Flo - which kinda fixed it, but them made the ink spread so the nib writes more an M than an F. Sigh. Maybe they call themselves Troublemaker for a reason? Very pretty, but also very diva.

I haven’t seen that movie in ages. I used to think my boss, though a good guy, was a Pod person. 😉

Oh, how cool is that name! Milky Ocean. It looks like a nice purple. Does it shade?

I think so. It's meant to shade with two colours but I'm only seeing the purple - it's a pastel purple but not too light. I do like it, but it was too dry for the fine Lamy nib. The pen on the swatch was a Sailor Hocoro 1.0mm dip nib with a feed so I didn't notice any dryness.
