What pen(s) are you using today?

Because I am in the middle of restoring pens for the Chicago Pen Show, my daily pens vary a lot.

My normal carry right now is Parker Duofold Centennial with Diamine Graphite, and a Schon Design with Waterman Black.

I'm also using a Parker Duofold Sr with a ground stub and Diamine Rustic Brown.

...and assorted pens I'm testing, like a Sheaffer Targa with some old Parker V-mail ink.

Is it a Parker factory FI/MI/BI?

Or is it one that you have sent out to a specialist to be modified to a cursive-italic grind?

Well, I have been 'playing' with my recently received Plumix's.

I'm sure it's my lack of technique, but for now I'll 'stick' with my Bejing Jin Xing 28  loaded with Diamine Sherwood Green at the minute, and may be for a while as it holds a ton of ink 🙂 🥰

Today it's been the Parker 61 Flighter (not sure what the nib is -- maybe an F), still with whatever black ink I keep reconstituting/flushing out of it; and the burgundy Sheaffer Snorkel Special, EF nib, with modern Skrip Blue.

Kaweco Perkeo calligraphy 1.9  nib. A pleasant surprise soft to write with and not to demanding on the inclination of the nib.

The first of 2 pens entering the rotation this weekend is the Ranga Zayante in acrylic. One of the smallest pens by Ranga in my collection, it's an absolute beauty to wear and use.

Fitted with a Jowo fine nib, this pocket pen (by Ranga standards) inked with the Taccia Plum lays down a wet fine line and is a great everyday carry pen. Fits in shirt pockets very well, clips on to tees, and goes completely inside jeans pocket.

The second pen joining rotation this weekend for perhaps the next couple of weeks is this PLP, a smallish pen, but not pocket pen size, very comfortable hold and write, but still slips into shirt pockets and jeans, and clips comfortably on to tees (all 3 are critical for me). 

The pen, fitted with a medium Jowo nib, is inked with the Lapis Bard Cranberry granita and lays down a wet, lush, line. Perhaps it's the ink, but the line is thicker than other M Jowo nibs I have; I will know more when I change inks.

A Pilot Falcon Elabo SF with Montblanc Elixir Yellow Gold ink, and MB 149 Calligraphy flex pen with Pelikan Brilliant Black.  The Yellow Gold ink looks interesting when dried on paper, like there are gold sediments in it.

(Chinese) Dolce-Vita Naranja with Aurora Black. The new nib writes slightly wetter than the IPG 😁 one, and is all the better for that

A green bodied, black topped 151, made for the Italian market...in F.

Same size as my black and gold 150, but in 120's green.

Writes very smoothly, on Mondi 100g color copy.

 

I have a gray plastic box, with index cards for pen and ink...not in this case. Just know it's a very nice blue ink.

Looks a bit lighter than Edelstein sapphire...Could well be.

That's what happens when one grabs the first available pen when one gets a new ink. And don't grab the gray plastic box!!!

 

My 90g is better just hit a brick wall, what ever it was, is no better than the 80g paper i used for my printer before.

Good thing I have a ream of that 100g Mondi.

 

 

For someone who has enough inks....I've bought three blueish inks in the last couple years.

Today's journal pen is the brown Opus88 Picnic with a fine nib and Diamine Chocolate Brown. I had heard that the brown Picnic was the only one in which the acrylic didn't glow... @MisfitChallenge accepted. And... not true. Yes, it's the cap rather than the endcap, but it does indeed look lovely if the light is behind it. 🧡

All of them. Tonight was Bible Study night, so I sat down and wrote the answers to each consecutive question with a different pen until I ran out of Fountain Pens. The one that got used the most was the Montblanc 144, but the Platinum Preppy came in a close second.
