This one, Pilot Prera Iro-ai with CM nib. The nib is a calligraphy M at 0.58mm according to Pilot.

Thank you so much. I took the photo in front of the microwave in the kitchen. I filled the pen in there as well. I love leaving the paper towel in the photo with the ink on it.

It was $35 on Amazon, and came with a converter.

Still using my 1950s Burgundy Parker 51...which I kind of wish would write a little 'wetter'....so I'm dosing the old girl up with Aurora black by way of encouragement..🙂

The 51's 'wingman' is a '70's  Parker 25 'rescued' from a box of old ballpoints...😲

Have to say anyone that is looking for a  'reasonably priced good value fountain pen'  could do a lot worse,  ebay uk around £15 secondhand....built like a tank, and punches well above it's weight.  (apologies for the poor photo)IMG_3143.thumb.JPG.94950a72c8bc2693cc07c2daf2799b77.JPG

I agree @Penguincollector

You really captured the moment @Misfit

Caused poor Amanda a bout of 'hysterical blindness'!!

Shame on you😂

LOL. Only cos Amanda already has a black Iro-Ai and no reasonable way to justify a pink one even if it would look better with the Yama-budo ink.

Oh no, I just realised I gave that ink away. Not cos I didn't like, but I was giving someone a pen and wanted to provide ink to go in it. Yes, guilty of attempting to lure an innocent into the hobby.

So  definitely no Pink Prera for me and it's all my own fault.

Good on you @AmandaW

On the plus side, if you believe as I do, give a gift of something you really cherish. You will showcase your love and generosity much better than if you're just casting off your excess clutter!

Also, instead of 'evil enabler' you are performing a rescue of someone who would otherwise be descending into electronic oblivion! 🎉

I recently bought Edelstein Garnet and now I feel I need the Pilot Yama-Budo as well...

Oh dear...time to build an extension onto the ink-box... which, incidentally, is a old "Taylors, St Andrews, 1999 Shiraz, case! Bottles long gone!

LOL, and there I was, just in the process of telling Amanda how she's going to get this and that from my surplus stuff!

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

This Montegrappa Elmo Very Peri just before it gets taken out of rotation today for cleaning and storage till its next entry into rotation.

Love this pen and kicking myself for not having picked it up a lot sooner than I did. Anyway...

It's beautiful: classic shape, nice size and heft to it, and the violet looks absolutely unique in real life.

The nib is amazing and lays down a wet line with great smoothness. I have written with it in all kinds of notebook paper and it writes like a dream (not considering feathering etc. Just the feel of pen on paper).

Currently inked with the Taccia violet. Looking forward to trying the iroshizuku violet in it the next time.IMG_20230219_075410-01.thumb.jpeg.2a10ff7e5eaa18aa667187c306fef834.jpegIMG_20230219_075500-01.thumb.jpeg.cef1ef2796de6ffdcf529e23a08a39af.jpeg

What an incredible color...   Wowzers !😀

Today I took the Waterman's out for a spin.

Orange Patrician:  Sailor Manyo Nadshiko

Not sorry. I don’t tend to buy pink items, though I’m a woman. But this particular pink is not a baby pink, so I actually like it. Amanda needs this pen! That and a 30ml bottle of Yama-Budo. My bottle was a gift, or I’d have gotten the less expensive version. Plus I suspect I’ll end up buying the Prera Iro-ai in red. I have the Edelstein Garnet ink you mentioned. Just saying, it’s not a justification for the red ends Prera.  I actually looked at this thread for the pen I’m fiending for now, the TWSBI Eco in cerulean blue.

edit:

Oh, and thank you for the compliment. My Dad told me once some of the best photos are accidents, not the meticulously composed ones.

The photo's fine 51ish. Nice pens, and I agree about the P25.  👍

Well, Serendipity seems to think so too. Smug told me about a "20% off Pilot sale"... And that he might be sending some spare Yama-budo my way. If he claims it's just a clean out - don't believe a word of it.

Your generosity is well known already Smug. We see examples of it here most days.

Cheers, PITom

Thanks to @Penguincollector’s blue pen club thread, I went to the trouble to get my Montblanc Corn Poppy Red ink out. When I got mine, it was $23.95. I used this true red ink in a pen that cost under $5, and came with a small converter.
