The tree lined streets of downtown "Old Toronto".

Which has grown into the Greater Toronto Area and 6.7 million people.

I am blessed with multiple pen stores and my love of music, classical, opera, ballet and live theatre are subway stops away.

And steps away from the front door is a river valley with country trails without a high-rise in sight.

My husband and I bought grew up in suburbia -- him outside of Buffalo, and then outside of Albany; me north of NYC (first in Rockland County, then the top end of Westchester County).  He would LOVE to live someplace like the property his mom bought along with two of his brothers (a patchwork of 47 acres outside of Saratoga Springs).  Me, OTOH?  I want public water and sewers, sidewalks, a short walk to mass transit (there's a bus stop about 3 blocks from our house, up along the main road) and a reasonable commute to grocery stores, doctors' offices and (of course) museums and libraries....

Oh, and there's a fire hydrant in front of our house along one corner, too!  :D  Which I'm pretty sure was one of the ones used when an apartment building around the corner caught fire in the middle of the night a number of years ago.  I apparently slept through most of the excitement: woke up about 5:30 AM to the sound of an engine running; looked out the side window to see someone leaning over a car filling out paperwork and was thinking "Tell your friend to say goodnight and that they should go home!" and it wasn't until I looked out the front window outside the bathroom that I saw one of the fire trucks....  Didn't even realize at first that my husband wasn't in the house (he'd thrown on clothes and walked up to the next corner and up the alley behind the apartment building).

I finally put ink in a pen I got for my birthday in 2022. It’s the Lamy Safari Cream that I put a 1.1mm italic nib on, and filled with Diamine Tyrian Purple which I got for Christmas 2022. I took it to the library to sign a geocache puzzle log placed inside. The log is actually a book of maps. You sign by a country you’d like to visit.

1) Shrek "Puss in Boots", M nib -- finishing a fill of Platinum Classic Black.

2) Pink, F nib -- Van Dieman's Night Series Moonflower.

A pale blue Jinhao 1001 Desk Pen EF inked with Iroshzuku tsuki-yo. A combo that works so well it became an instant favourite... one of those pen equivalents to comfort food.

Will work for pens...

Just don't over-indulge! 😶 I did more running in the past seven days than my slacking weekly average for the past year… and, when I weighed myself just now, my weight has gone up! 🤔

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.
