TWSBI Swipe (medium nib) with a blue-black ink made from a mix of 80% Pilot blue-black and 20% Pilot black. This is to suppress the blue in the blue-black a bit more. (I'm keeping the mixing to one ink family in hopes of not messing up any pen that I load it into.)

Sailor Pro Gear Slim Purple Cosmos, zoom nib, with Sailor Sky High.  (Yeah it's a bit late for Misfit's thread about "Space Week", but I did ink it up and use it a bit last night.

Also, the purple Pilot Falcon, SF nib, with Sailor Souboku; and one of the black 45s, but not sure what the nib and ink are.

So far, it's been the Senator Windsor, M nib (finishing a fill of 4001 Violet); and the Red Rage Parker 45, M nib, with vintage Quick Permanent Blue Black.

Today I’m getting into the calligraphy set I bought at 5 Below, using the 1.1 stub with Waterman Serenity Blue. I also still have the Parker Aster GT with Parker Washable Blue going, and a 5 Below Lamy Safari clone that I have a Rainbow steel Chuan Ren Lamy Safari clone nib on (I don’t have a proper Safari because I don’t really like the looks of it, but I bought a clone because it has a penguin on it and am getting slowly convinced that they aren’t so bad- I like the way the clip looks on clothing). The latest pen is a green Sailor Lecoule (can’t recall if it carries an accent). I have a backlog of never inked pens and I might suspend the 3-4 pen rotation I have to use more inks for coloring.

Top 5 of 25 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144 IB, Herbin Orange Indien/ Wearingeul Frost

Sailor 🐧 Mini Pro Gear Slim M, Van Dieman’s Neptune’s Necklace

Pelikan M605 F, Pelikan Edelstein Moonstone

Wing Sung 698 SF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Lapis/ Sapphire

Cross Wanderlust Malta M, DeAtramentis Columbia Blue-Bronze-Copper

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

Auditioning a Parker 51 with ST Dupont Black (though the aerometric filler rather adamantly states to use dry writing Superchrome ink, maybe next time).

Non stub, semi-flex FK....tipping bump under and not on top of the nib (like my other (K) kugle semi-flex pens) 400nn.

I had never heard of one. I do have some 4-5 German pens I judge from the late '50- early '60's with tear drop tipping.

This in both the rose and black and blue and black.

Very small, Austrian made.

Regular size. Same make.

I have a Geha school pen with an FK nib that is regular flex........my regular flex 120 Pelikan is an F nib, with a somewhat flattened underneath tipping.

But I'd not read about a 400nn, in FK.

The long discontinued MK Sepia in it.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Better late than not. The ink is fitting for Space too. My Red Supernova with music nib says hello to your Purple Cosmos with zoom nib.

great looking pens. Nice photography too.

Reminds me of a nice Osmia 222 (?) I got at a yard sale.

Nobody bought it at the Commonwealth Pen Show so I will probably sell it on FPGeeks sometime soon.

I really wish we still had the classifieds here...

Last night was the red Auroloide Optima; the first guest I checked in said, "that's a nice pen"

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

CS Series 58.

Ha! Coincidence, this is also what I'd like to ink today in the afternoon. (The morning was for trying out a Sheaffer Balance, which I'm about to describe.)

Would you mind sharing a couple of pictures? Mine is a green cross-hatch, with a 58 Duro nib, so I look forward to compare and enjoy others are also using such pens on such a good day 😄

TL;DR: A Sheaffer Statesman Balance (matches Dirck DeLint's description [1], at least), black, made in Fort Madison, Iowa, USA, with a Sheaffer's 14k, F-tipped nib made in Australia. Inked with J Herbin's Lie de The.

Overall, I like the pen. A bit small for my hand and the nib has a sweet spot, but it's a very pleasant sketching instrument and I could also write with it capped. Thumbs up!

Which pen is this? Perhaps someone can help identify if this is, indeed, a Statesman? It matches the dimensions from [1], has a white dot, and the cap has the round shape I'd expect for the late-1930s period of Sheaffer, but perhaps I'm missing something. Update: hmm, perhaps it's a Sovereign? It matches even better the girth (diameter) analyzed by ParkerSheaffer.com [2].

Enjoy the weekend!
