Wing Sung vac filled with Diamine Dark Forest.  This was a mistake; I wanted to try a vac filler so I bought three(different nib sizes) only to discover they don't post. Trying to use up the ink so I can give it away, but it holds a lot of ink!

Which model do you have? I own a couple of 699s, and both post securely. What I have found is that there's a slight step down between the rear of the plastic barrel and the metal ring that contacts the plunger knob, and if that catches on the end of the cap thread then it'll stop the cap snugging down on the barrel and posting. One just has to get the cap lined up correctly, and perhaps wiggle it a bit if snagging happens, and then the problem goes away.

I’m thinking of the first pen to put it in. It won’t be a new one.

Perhaps the Retro 51 in orange with Nasa logo on it, from your World Space album

My Fuyu-gaki landed originally in my Sailor Fude De Mannen, a wonderful pen for sketching with steel nib (and a gateway pen for the Sailor 1911L Special Nib with Naginata Fude). My pen was the dark blue version with the nib turned at 45 degrees, and a joy to use. I had the other ink, Tsuki-yo, in my other Sailor Fude de Mannen, the green with a 55-degree nib-turn. Blue pen, orange ink. Green pen, blue ink. Consequently, I kept confusing them.

Heh, I already have fond memories from the hobby 😄

Enjoy your ink!

1. Parker 21, F(?) nib -- unknown diluted blue or blue-black ink.

2. Pilot Falcon, SF nib -- Sailor Souboku.

3. Lady Duofold Lucky Curve, italic/stub nib -- Waterman Serenity Blue.

Last night at work I used the Pro Gear Slim "European exclusive" Negroni which arrived Tuesday. The red is somewhat darker than the Go USA, with orange finials and rhodium furniture and the M nib is smoother. Inked it with KWZ Maroon, a very close match but, nope, already tired of it after one night. :( Might try 1864.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

A mish-mash of pens: a Bexley Deluxe, two Narwhals, a Parker Duofold, and a Franklin Christoph pocket pen.

Also an Ajoto roller and Parafernalia pencii.

Oh cool, you saw my album. I created a thread for World Space Week. I’ve learned some new space information from it. World Space Week happens every October 4-10. 🪐

It says it's a 3013; I tried fiddling with it some more after reading your post but no luck.  Won't post. :(

Ah, I see. Well, if you're still after a reasonably-priced vacuum filler that a) posts, and b) looks great, I can heartily recommend the 699.

Good to know!  I figured if I liked the mechanism I would probably bite the bullet and get a TWSBI, but perhaps I will need to keep the 699 in mind as it's less than half the cost.  Thanks.  The filling mechanism is rather impressive to watch.

I have both a Vac 700R and a Vac Mini, and while I like them well enough I think I now prefer the look and feel of the 699. The TWSBIs do have that Vac 20A travel inkwell, though, which is a great piece of kit.

Today, well yesterday now, I wrote a letter. The pens I used are an Edison Beaumont Molten Ores, Retro 51 Peacock, Opus 88 Picnic in blue, Fine Writing International Jupiter, Conklin Endura Deco Crest gunmetal and orange, and a Travelers Company LE Factory Green.

Got a new ink yesterday, so inked up a Pilot Plumix with a Kakuno F nib. The Monteverde Fire Opal ink is a nice fall color:

Haha, inspiring! Coincidence, we were just discussing the Pilot Plumix in the context of gateway stub-nibs, so I tried mine.

TL;DR: My first experience with a Pilot Plumix, with EF and BB nibs so i can understand the range.

Overall, for me it's a better pen than the Metropolitan, for sketching especially because its body has smooth transitions. I like both nibs I've tried, although they do have a distinctive steel feedback. The EF nib is surprisingly thin, but still could be a bit more polished; at this scale it may be I just got one of the lesser productions.

So far, today, it's been the Dutch packaging NOS Parker Vector Looney Toons "Sylvester" pen,  nib, with vintage Quick Washable Brown; and the recently purchased black Parker 21, F(?) nib, with whatever (now diluted) blue ink (possibly also Quick) which got reconstituted when I went to flush out the pen after I got it.

Oh, and (somewhat inadvertantly ) the Lapis Lazuli Lady Duofold Lucky Curve ringtop I picked up at the Commonwealth Pen Show a few weekends ago, B nib, with Waterman Serenity Blue.  Okay, actually it wasn't me -- it was the guy at an appraisal fair at the VFD fundraiser I went to this morning, who didn't realize it was inked up and got some Serenity Blue on his hands for his trouble.  I think the pen was cranky about being told it wasn't worth what I paid for it (I got a song and dance from the guy about how at the moment things like that are considered "luxuries" as opposed to a few years ago, and that I shouldn't pay attention to the prices on eBay for things -- which of course, being the consummate cheapskate I am, already knew...).  Of course he and the guy next to him were blathering about gold vs. non-gold nibs especially in relation to the Pelikan 120 I picked up recently at a small antiques mall south of me....  Not sure if they believed me when I told them the prior appraisal value I had been given about the 3rd pen (the Parker 41 I found in a shoebox of mostly ballpoints with company logos on them, at an estate sale a few years ago -- for which *I* paid a whole whopping 50¢ US...).

But at least this wasn't like the thing I went to a couple of months ago, which turned out to be "You'll get the appraisal value when we BUY the item(s) off you..." (not exactly ADVERTISED as such...). :glare:
