And the author is Mardy Grothe.

How's that for a play on words?

In fact, there is a book out there somewhere called, "I Never Metaphor I Didn't Like".

Read it years ago and thought it was pretty good.

For those of us who are into verbal abuse (as well as noun, adjectives, etc.) it nice to have books/aggregations which stimulate our way of using our language.

Nearest I can come - anyone else remember Rich Hall's 'Sniglets'

('Words That Don't Appear In The Dictionary But Should')?

I got 99 problems but a BIC ain't one!

If I said I'll fix it, I will. There's no need to remind me every 6 months.

Today is pen club day, so I am bringing my matte black Sheaffer Slim Targa (1003s) with an italic fine ground by Thomas Ang (whose mom has the same pen and needed a new converter- I gave him an extra and he gave me a hefty discount). I inked it with Sheaffer Peacock blue. It’s the first time I’ve inked it since it got the new grind (it’s early and I lost an hour of sleep, my grammar is terrible).

Top 5 (in no particular order) of16 currently inked pens:

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Parker 45 Deluxe M, Lamy Turmaline

Unknown Chinese Maker A-108 Acrylic Pen M, Diamine Dusted Truffle

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

Perhaps my phrasing is misleading.

The pen's color is, called, I think, Lapis Blue. The ink is the regular Diamine Sapphire Blue. It has become one of my preferred choices.

‘Haha, I was thinking about ink mixtures when I misread your post.

Thanks for the heads up and the link.

Just bought three black pens - $17.00+ total.

One for me to play with and two to PIF with.

When I clicked on the red and the blue ones the price magically appeared at $35.00!

Guess I will go with black for now.

Thank you again...

Just received my pens from"A". Nice writing pen.

Ordered 2 more.

Guess I will be gifting two more people while keeping one for myself.

Even the omniflex seems to work decently.

I'm using my Waterman Taperite Citation (later Canada-made model, F): in terms of "writes beautifully", among the top 5 in my 40-pen collection...

A white Cleo Skribent Classic piston-filler, which I loaded with Graf von Faber-Castell Stone Grey last month to try to capture the feel of this year's endlessly monochromatic seventeen weeks of February, and which I now need to finish up, because the snow has melted and I sighted the first rabbit of the year yesterday and it's time for something else. Plus the usual office pen, a Lamy 2000 with Diamine Oxford Blue, which I'm also trying to finish up so I can try a new blue-black (Bungubox 4B).

What is more appropriate than inking my Leonardo Officina Momento Zero Alga with Standard Inks Seaweed?

I see that a couple of people bought the Monteverde Strata in black with the Omniflex nib for $5.74. This is the standard Jowo #6 extra-flex.  I've been buying these when they become available for several months. I'm not a big fan of the Strata, too heavy, but I love the nibs & swap them into a variety of pens that use Jowo nib units.  I keep the converters & nib units & throw the pens away.  The $5.74 deal is available at the moment:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CVNQ1BBB

If it has disappeared by the time you look, just set a price watch on camelcamelcamel.com.  At one time the blue was also at that price.  I ordered 2 on back order and eventually the order was cancelled by Amazon because the pen was no longer available.  Two days later it was back at $37.  I contacted Amazon and asked them to honor the $5.74 price.  Instead they gave me a credit for the difference in price on the two & I was able to use that credit to buy a dozen of the black.  My strangest Amazon transaction ever.

I got one and it doesn't seem to fit into any of my Jowo (or Bock for that matter) pens and the converter only seems to fit this nib.

I had high hopes but I'm glad I didn't buy several of these.

A Conklin piston filler loaded with orange ink, but I should have done a better job cleaning out the previous black ink.  Brown for now.
