Refilled my MB 144 and now it is good for another round! Sailor Jentle Blue Black works nicely for me.

Still using my new Kaweco.  This pen is smooth.  It has a nice balance so it feels natural to hold and take notes.

Today it's been the Parker Vector Looney Toons Sylvester pen, F nib, still with Noodler's La Reine Mauve; and the purple Pilot Falcon, SF nib, still with Sailor Souboku.

Once more into the breach, it's the CS Belliver.

It will be a month of a Conway Stewart filling my hand instead of an Onoto.

Today a blue Greenfield pen with a medium nib (thankfully one that writes like a fine) and a Faber Castell blue cartridge. The cartridge was in a Faber Castell Grip 1.1mm, I wanted to try the pen but found the nib was way too broad for journal writing so, not wanting to waste the ink, moved it to the Greenfield.

The Greenfield is another pen which appears to have the same nib and feed as the Kaweco Perkeo and a bunch of Faber Castell models. A favourite in any pen.

Will work for pens...

Parker 61, Mark ll, gray, medium nib, double jewel with some Noodlers pen show ink.

Capillary fill that I cleaned out (but it needs a bit more work.

Which show and which ink?  Although, admittedly, I'm a bit cautious about what inks to put into a capillary filler....

I remember the first time I went to the Commonwealth Show, and Nathan Tardiff had 3 inks done specially for that show and the line for the Noodler's table was across the room when I got there!  (Oh, I should pull out my bottle of Miles Standish -- one of the three show specials that year -- and put that ink back into rotation.... )

Today it's been the grey Pilot Decimo, F nib -- still with the as yet unidentified teal blue/blue black Diamine ink I picked up a while back at an estate sale.

That ink looks like it will shade well.... 😀👍

Looking forward to seeing your results.

I was using a gray Parker 61 (M) Mk ll and it suddenly ran dry.

It seemed a bit sudden but I went to "refilled" it.

When I still had no success writing with it , I checked the nib with a loupe and found missing tipping on one tine 😞

The nib is gold IIRC, so it's still worth something, but too expensive to get it repaired. Kind of bummed because I was enjoying the balance and the way the pen wrote. Will probably sell it for $10-15.00 or give it away at our next pen club meeting (February 15th). Guess I will just have to pick another pen (from the VERY many I have, to use in it's place.

BTW, this was the first time something like this has ever happened to me. YMMV, of course.

Getting close to using up the ink in my Sheaffer 100 Coffee edition pen. Can't decide if I will clean it out or give it another run. Been using it in my journal since 1/16.

This happened to me recently for the first time as well, although it was a less complicated ancient eye dropper pen. It seems like the gold right behind the tipping on a tine was weak. Apparently, some gold alloys can fail as they age, or if a tine has bent it can break later on. I don’t necessarily think that we had the same issue, but it’s interesting that it happened to both of us for the first time so recently.

I wish I had a way to learn to retip nibs. It seems like a soon to be lost art.
