The super expensive Yu-Sari arrived today and I checked it out with:

Namiki Shogun<F> Iroshizuku Asa-Gao

Lenardo Furore<M> Iroshzuku Ajaisai

Leonardo MZ<F> Edelstein Sapphire

At $0.57 per A5 sheet, save your money, it's unimpressive with colors and it feathers with commonly used inks.  Although not for everybody, Cosmo Snow and Iroful blow it away at $0.105 and $0.14 per sheet.  Tomoe River-S comes in at $0.085 per sheet and Kokuyo KB is $0.02 per sheet.

- YMMV -

Wow, for dry Edelstein Sapphire to feather like that is crazy!  They touted this as a next level fountain pen paper. I have to look back and see what  my results were.

Top 5 of 26 (in no particular order) currently inked pens:

Pelikan M300 CIF, Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl

MontBlanc 144R F, Diamine Bah Humbug

Sheaffer 3-25 EF ringtop, Skrip Black

Waterman Caréne Black Sea, Teranishi Lady Emerald

Pilot 742 FA, Namiki Purple cartridge

always looking for penguin fountain pens and stationery

RedPie, I do like it a lot, but it holds so much stupid ink! I've written with it forever and can't get it to use up that big load of Akkerman Shocking Blue ink. Some of my other pens deserve a chance in rotation!

Today a Lamy Studio Dark Brown EF filled with Diamine Triple Chocolate. This is to remind myself why I like the Studio so much, therefore succumbing to an Imperial Blue on sale this morning was a good idea.

I keep vacillating on whether to buy that pen or not. It’s sooo pretty! 😍  Nice job getting it on sale, too.

Stuck with my MB 144. It writes wet, I like it a lot.

I have developed quite a wont for buying these great little pens- perfect size for me! They’re sneakily good with shimmer and sheeing inks as well, even the fine nibs. I wonder if it’s the feed style? You’ve inspired me to use my 144R today.

@AmandaW oh, I’ve always thought the Imperial Blue Studio is beautiful.

Me too -- the Studios are a really elegant looking model.  But I got a chance to try writing with one at the Lamy SoHo store in NYC the day after Christmas, and it turns out that the Studio is just a bit too heavy a pen for me to be comfortable to write with. :wallbash:

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
