Santini-Italia

I have just received my second Santini-Italia pen, the Giant Blue Wave with #8 Nib. I was so impressed with the Cappuccino pen with #6 nib I ordered the Giant. While they say it is "Giant" I don't find the pen to be significantly larger than the Cappuccino as you can see from the pics. By the way, I really apologize for my poor photography, I only use an Iphone and not good at that either. ( If you are interested in detail you can go to their website) These are ebonite pens  (which many do not care for) but I have found them very nice. These nibs write beautifully, I got fine nibs on both but noticed the Cappuccino writes a slightly broader stroke ( but still what I call a fine) and is a wetter pen than the Blue Wave. Possibly that could be difference in ink.

While I had been aware of Santini for some time and written a note that I would look at them in the future, it was not until recently that I bought one and then was so pleased immediately got another. Anyway, just thought I would share my experience for what it's worth and again sorry for extremely poor photography ( I envy many of you who provide beautiful pics of your pens.)

And finally, FYI, 3F0CB3ED-5DE4-4A49-98D1-CFB06B7F85A4.thumb.jpeg.6f1e283e8c13a0dabbd950e6e2f0473a.jpeg97139D68-5022-49A3-9D81-2965E8A0246E.thumb.jpeg.2fb23928fcbb39c75871481519a4b0e5.jpeg I found Santini's Customer Service to be "over the top".

thank you for sharing your experience.

I own a Libra in ebonite and one in resin.

They are very nice large pens, and the nibs are certainly different from others around, which makes them enjoyable.

I am particularly pleased with the ebonite material, does deserve.

What a nib and what a pen! I just got a Santini Giant and I’m blown away.

The nib is large, even compared with other #8 nibs. The factory italic grind is smooth but crisp enough.

The whole pen is well proportioned and a joy to use. Light and slender enough to allow for comfortable writing but very substantial.

(The grey color scheme is called „Perla“)

I love the deep marbled resin body, even prefer it over the more flat appearance of ebonite.

Best,

Sebastian

Stunning!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I love ebonite as well, but on this pen I liked the acrylic resin more. The depth and shimmer is impressive. Santini now also offers flexy nibs for this pen, but for me the cursive italic is just perfect.

Another image, next to a ‚standard‘ size (137 mm/5.4 in closed, #6 nib) Montegrappa Passione.
