Alas, my photos don't show the grey-black colour of the shiny clips, cap rings, and nibs properly. See https://www.platinum-pen.co.jp/star_wars_fountainpen.html

A lot of beautiful pictures of pens here, but as a Star Wars fan I really love these. I do like to cross collect, hence my Visconti Hanoverian to complement my Hanoverian horses.

Arrived today from the other side of the planet: a Levenger True Writer Pinkly with a medium nib. It's travelling companion is a True Writer Starry Night mechanical pencil.

These are so pretty! Do they write as well as they look?

I got three pens today.

large.IMG_0387.jpeg.ed58c1414a47bfdd6473e54b7a590ad7.jpeg

The pen at the top came in one package. It’s a Monteverde Prima Red Swirl with a 1.1mm stub nib.

The other pens came in the same package. The TWSBI Eco Cream and Rose Gold has a 1.1mm stub nib. The discontinued Kaweco Sport Skyline in white has a B nib. The Sport Classic white is, from what I can tell, still a part of the Sport Classic (gold tone details) series.

I’m thinking of Diamine Chocolate for the Eco. I got some Jet Pens blue ink cartridges, and that could go in the Kaweco. I allegedly ordered Monteverde Red/Black ink cartridges that are marked as Red only on the packaging. There were only 3 cartridges in the package that is supposed to have 6. I contacted Amazon via chat. They issued a refund, and indicated no return was necessary. So the Prima could get one of those cartridges, or a bottled ink.

@DilettanteG I have six or seven Levenger True Writer fountain pens with nibs F, M, B. They all write smoothly and well. We shall see what @AmandaW thinks.

Here is the new Kaweco’s writing sample. The ink is a color of blue chosen by Jet Pens as their own ink.

You have some very interesting pens Baka, I never saw this one before.  Looking forward to your comments and opinions. 😀👍

Btw, nice mini review and writing sample.  What paper were you writing on?

So I'm thinking about the elements of a Mini Review.

@Penguincollector That blue ripple effect is really lovely. Good choice.

@Misfit seems like your little trooper is the perfect pen for black ink. I'm very big Into perfect pairings at the moment and this really works! (I'mstill waiting for my Pelikan Lizard so I can finally use my Edelstein Onyx.)

Stipula La Ventidue 22 with a steel V-Flex nib

The grind of the nib on it was pretty (bleep) terrible out-of-the-box.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Sorry to read about your bad experience! This variant of the La22 looks amazing! I hope you can fix the nib by yourself, although I'm sure you may get a replacement without a problem (for nasty additional effort).

My steel V-flex Stipula was a great writer out of the box, but the gold nib I bought a bit later was (bleep) (bleep) (bleep) unusable scrap metal.

Not good if luck is a big part of getting a new pen.

One life!

Thanks! After doing a whole lot of work on it, it still writes dryly and especially on diagonal strokes crossing top-right to bottom-left (and, to an extent, those going in the opposite direction), but is usable as an quasi Extra Fine nib with some room for making bold highlights:

In case no one has told you, it's a later SJ, which is a "pocket" version of Esterbrook's incredibly popular J model.  A 9556 nib is a great find, too; I have one on my red full-size, and it is a lot of fun to write with.
