Just in a few hours ago. Took it apart and gave it a good clean!

Montblanc 225 (cartridge converter version). 14k super smooth EF nib

Almost the same dimensions as a Parker 45...just fancier?

As the nib comes back from the tip I am thinning it down to be almost level with the feed.

The mods that Bo Bo is talking about is something similar to what  I did to an Ahab many years ago and mine turned out looking like what is now Conklins Duroflex nib. I was happy with that mod but I am not going that drastic on the Jinhao, I just want a little more flex or spring to the nib than what it already offers.

I'm trying to visualize it...  Something like the Pilot FA?

So this is a combination of yesterday and today, but I just got a chance to photograph them: a free Pelikan, a free Waterman Ideal desk pen, Pilot Silvern Dragon B, Sheaffer (seller said it was a slim Targa, but It is identical to my black Fashion, I bought it for the converter, and I will eventually look to see if a slim Targa inlaid section fits),  Pilot Lizard F with pouch, and a jade Parker Duofold Lady ring top. large.IMG_0508.jpeg.24081dbaee2810f6cfdd21f31c8658c6.jpeg

Love your Sterling Silver Dragon 😀👍

Pilot had the half moon mod first...then it became popular in the Ahab.

But the Ahab started out as a hard semi-flex....the Pilot as a regular flex, going to semi-flex.

The Ahab starting with a more flexible nib, went to the first stage superflex... Easy Full Flex.

The Ahab became suddenly a fun pen, with the Mod.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Conklin Coronet, turquoise metallic, 1.1 stub nib. Came in yesterday just before bedtime, I flushed it and let it dry until this morning. Loaded with Birmingham Pens Chrysan Themum so I could do a bit of comparison with this pen, the Pilot 0.9 stub, and my home-ground Jinhao stub.

Then pen was on sale plus had a coupon, on Amazon, so it was cheap enough that I'll keep it even if I don't anticipate using it a great deal. It writes nicely.

With this ink I'd say the Coronet is the winner, in terms of achieving any shading or outlining. The ink seems to want a juicy nib, which the Conklin almost is; I achieved most shading and outlining on Neenah Capitol Bond 25% cotton bond paper. I tried scanning one of my sample writing pages but the scanner does a poor job, and my photo skills aren't much better.

I keep looking at those, because they're cheap and fun -- but don't think I'd want a pink one....

My favorite Shark pen, named Sharkie, is the gray one. I also have orange, green, white, and light purple.

Great looking pen, your writing examples look fine to me. Those posts make me buy more pens than I should. I can't help it. LOL

Well, they arrived on 5 December (ahead of schedule!), not today.  But this is the first day I've had time enough to post them.  I now find myself preferring pens that it's easy to see any ink on the section.  Length is comparable to a Pilot Prera.  I think I will have to caution anyone to whom I give these not to post firmly, given my history and experience with really inexpensive Jinhao plastic pens.

I plan to ink up the red one first, once I am down to three inked pens.

My friends and I had our Christmas get together today. One got me the Kaweco Sport in blue with F nib. For the first time, I think, I’m using the cartridge that came with the Kaweco. It will be the pen for my log book page of the day.

The Cult Pens order arrived. Now I have the Kaweco/Cult Pens collaboration silver transparent sparkle pen with 1.1mm stub nib. I filled a cartridge with Diamine Blue Edition Ho Ho Ho ink. I’ll use it when I write about today in my log book.

Sailor Pro Gear Shikiori Spring Sky, as posted here by @lascosas. I flushed it this morning so it currently drying on the espresso machine.

I like the subtle visual difference between the barrel and the rest of the pen. The barrel is slightly translucent, slightly pearlescent; the cap and section are opaque, not at all pearlescent. I would be happier with rhodium trim, but the black finials are a nice touch.

I have a black Pro Gear with this same MF nib, loaded with Sailor black pigment ink, so I'm not in a hurry to ink the Spring Sky. When I do ink it up I'll probably use Akkerman #11 Trêves.

My Osmiroid Easy Change pen arrived. Disappointed.  There's no cap liner and the cap wobbles. It's in 'as new' condition, but it's a cheaply made thing that's going to dry out so fast here It's as good as useless.

Will the nib unit fit some other pen?

Will work for pens...

Pro Gear, or Pro Gear Slim? Nibs in the two models do not share the same geometry or gold alloy composition.

I have a solution for the Osmiroid Easy Change pen. The nib unit and converter fit this Faber Castell School pen perfectly. Screws in beautifully and seals very nicely if the snugness of the cap going on and off is anything to go by. It certainly feels a lot better.

Excellent discovery!

I agree - those Osmiroid pens are sucky, except for the nibs, which are fantastic. The previous version Easy Change is a little better.
