Thank you, I think they choose some nice material for this one. I’m going to fill it with an ink I got for my birthday, Galen Leathers/KWZ sapphire, AKA a blue stone. 😄

Here you go:

That's an incredible nib...  Can't wait to hear how it writes...😃👍

The pen that just arrived at my house is a good example of this truth. I had bought a Sheaffer Truimph 550, and the nib was uncooperative. I sent it home with my pen friend, and he couldn’t repair it, and if Stewart can’t fix it, it can’t be. He gave me a dolphin nib for it, making it a different pen. I’m pretty stoked, as I find dolphin nibs cool, and didn’t have one until now. I never got to ink that Triumph, but the Dolphin arrived inked and tested.

How did he do that, replace the whole section?

Yes, I think, because the barrel and cap are Triumph, with the white dot on the clip and not Sheaffer’s.

I believe it is the Franklin-Christophe music nib, made for them by Jowo. Stainless steel. Misfit, please correct me if I'm mistaken. I would guess it is 1.5mm nominal, so about BBB.

Yes indeed, it is a music nib. I was very lucky in that a pen friend gave it to me. Thank you to all who complimented the pen. I bet Franklin-Christoph would be happy to see this.

There are some other models in Bluestone on the closeout sale. I got mine without a nib, so paid $88.75.

I plan on putting ink in the Model 3 pen on Friday, or Fountain Pen Day. I’ll post a photo of its writing here.

Well, the guess at the width of the music nib is likely larger with a wet ink. Behold, on Tomoe River paper, the Franklin-Christoph music nib. Oh, and it’s Iterum, which I think I wrote incorrectly as iterun.

It would be odd to go from the music nib to an EF. Maybe I can borrow a 1.1mm CC nib from another F-C pen. It is the one that originally came with the EF nib.

The TWSBI Eco Indigo/Bronze that I fought against buying, and lost, arrived yesterday. I didn't have any Ecos before, just two TWSBIs, a Vac700R and a Diamond 580. I got this pen with a stub nib for the sake of variety. I loaded it with Diamine Royal Blue, which is not identical but complementary to the color of the cap. I think it is a fairly wet ink, and the nib certainly seems to be wet, from what little writing with it I have done so far. Anyway, now I have it and I can relax.

I don't count a pen as "got" until it's inked and tested.  So the maroon ripple ebonite FPR CT Himalaya V2 stub, which got filled with the last of the Lamy Dark Lilac sample Amber gave me, is now counted as "arrived."

Now, if only it'd write for more than a couple lines before starving itself of ink...

:)

Following the advice of @Arkanabar, the pen isn't really acquired until it gets the right ink.

This little beauty is acquired at the Denver pen show.  Made by Russ Pens.  https://www.instagram.com/russ_pens/?e=b1c5b4db-94b8-4fc9-b36c-cfd53ffe61f3&g=5. Russ is disabled (only one arm), but clearly put in a ton of elbow grease to get the polish on this hot little number.  :). I just love it.

The first ink I tried was Noodler's Catfish highlighter pink, then mixes with the catfish and Akkerman #20.  Eventually I ended up with Pulchri pink as the go to ink.

Really cool pen @amberleadavis  and amazing pen maker.

I received the Fountain Pen Day pen purchase because of deals. I ordered it earlier than FPD. It’s a Monteverde Mountains of the World Orange Mountains which are part of the Watchung range in New Jersey. I got it with a 1.1mm stub nib. It has translucent areas.  I’ll fill it with GvFC Burned Orange.

Howdy MzFit

You know how much I like your mini reviews... 👍😀

That color looks a little like a lighter BSB.

How do you get the colors of the ink and the paper to come out so good?

Mine always comes out too dark. 🙁 <== BooHooMe

I learned this from my brother when he got better closeup photos of nibs. Start out with a wide photo frame, focusing on your subject. Use the flash. Then edit it to show what you want to show. I used my iPhone 12 to take that photo. It’s hard to get paper, and what is on it right.

Er, not quite.  I know that a lot of people will post here on the day their pen arrives, but I never seem to remember.  I get my first real impression of a pen when I fill it and use it to write.  In my mind, that's when it changes from being a piece of merchandise to a pen -- its date of birth, if you will.  The right ink is probably more like graduating from junior high school.
