I love the Lecoule since discovering them early this year, I now have two - Pale Brown and Lapis Lazuli (which might be the blue you describe).

Hmmm.  I just Googled the Lapis Lazuli, and the image I found did look similar to the one I have.  Mine had sort of silver glitter/dust mixed in with the barrel and cap material, and when I zoomed in on the image, I'd say that really might be the same color as what I have.  Thanks!

Haven't had a chance to try the Lecoule yet.  One of the items on my shopping list for OPS is to get a converter for it.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Today I came home from the London Dungeon to find a gold-filled Eversharp Slim Ventura waiting on the doormat. This one has a lovely medium-to-broad nib with a little stubbish behaviour and the spot for a signature hasn't even been engraved.

I bought this Wing Sung 698 earlier this month. The slow boat from China arrived.large.IMG_0406.jpeg.66a828ebde88214ee1c2d4cab6769079.jpeglarge.IMG_0408.jpeg.244880946a337684e4f08ffc95dfd135.jpeg

My last AE order for the year (she says) - arrived with Saturday's mail.

Christmas grab bag stuff:

A bunch of Jinhao 993 pens for kids; a bunch of 82s, both standard and mini, for older kids and adults.

An industrial quantity of ink cartridges in a variety of colors for the above. I pull the converters and include a dozen cartridges with each pen. Anybody who already has the fountain pen bug will also get a couple of converters and 5ml ink bottles.

I'm expecting the little kid stuff today -  crayons and colored pencils, coloring books, stickers. The big kids always end up with some of these so I order plenty. Any leftovers go to the neighborhood HeadStart program.

For myself:

Two of the standard 82 with a glass nib. Two together was cheaper than one of the similar thing from JetPens. One is not assembled well and has a chipped tip. The other looks and feels smooth. I'll test it tomorrow when my Birmingham Pens order arrives.

A dozen piston-fill rollerballs, which I mentioned in this thread. These are back stock. They're ideal for work, which is the only place I use a RB.

A single Lamy knockoff with a Naginata-type nib. It looks like a finer tip than the one I already have, which is a good thing.

Is that the spendier one with the "Lucky" 14k nib? If so can you verify it's solid 14k, not GP?

Yes, it’s the solid gold nib. The alloy has a bit more copper than Western gold, but it’s 14k. I don’t know what the GP version costs, but ths one was around $50 with coins and shipping on AliExpress.

The very one I dropped into my cart earlier. Thanks for the confirmation! So much for my resolution to stay away from AE for what's left of this year 😄

That’s so hard to do. If you manage it after this then I commend you! I try to keep it to one a month from there and another from either my online vintage dealer or my in person pen club. I know myself well and not shopping isn’t going to happen. At least they’re less expensive than guitars!

I don't count a pen as "got" until it's inked and tested.  So the maroon ripple ebonite FPR CT Himalaya V2 stub, which got filled with the last of the Lamy Dark Lilac sample Amber gave me, is now counted as "arrived."

Now, if only it'd write for more than a couple lines before starving itself of ink...

Early 80's MB 146.  14k monotone M nib, split ebonite feed, gray ink window.  To be ground to CI.

Add lightness and simplicate.

I forgot to post photos of the pens I received. They are a Parker  51 Demi with F nib in burgundy, and a Franklin-Christoph model 3 Iterum in bluestone black. The finial is black.

@Misfit beautiful model 3, any chance of a photo with the pen uncapped?

Thank you, I think they choose some nice material for this one. I’m going to fill it with an ink I got for my birthday, Galen Leathers/KWZ sapphire, AKA a blue stone. 😄

That is a very nice pen, the nib is of interest, italic, BB or BBB?

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

I believe it is the Franklin-Christophe music nib, made for them by Jowo. Stainless steel. Misfit, please correct me if I'm mistaken. I would guess it is 1.5mm nominal, so about BBB.

The pen that just arrived at my house is a good example of this truth. I had bought a Sheaffer Truimph 550, and the nib was uncooperative. I sent it home with my pen friend, and he couldn’t repair it, and if Stewart can’t fix it, it can’t be. He gave me a dolphin nib for it, making it a different pen. I’m pretty stoked, as I find dolphin nibs cool, and didn’t have one until now. I never got to ink that Triumph, but the Dolphin arrived inked and tested.
