Majohn T5, blue. The Moonman fine nib is better (IMO) than reviewers would have you believe. At least, the one I received is nice: needs no tuning at all (loaded with Waterman Blue-Black).

The two I ordered both arrived today. They are a Conklin Duragraph in Cracked Ice, and a TWSBI Eco in Indigo and Bronze. The nibs are both 1.1mm stub nibs. The Eco nib is bronze tone, and the cap finial has a metallic glow. The ink came in the same order with the Eco, and is Colorverse Show-Me Missouri.

The flash lightens the Indigo blue. It’s darker than the photos show.

Hi Misfit,

Those are very nice looking pens...👍😀  How do those stub nibs perform (wet, dry?)?  What are their differences?

OTOH, the Missouri ink piqued my attention.  Could you tell us something about it?  I don't see any reviews around.  Does it do anything special?

@USG I plan on putting the Show-Me ink in the Indigo Eco tonight. I might have an ink selected for the Cracked Ice. I’ll either post more tonight or tomorrow. Thank you for the interest. Evidently Colorverse has a USA series. It holds 15ml of ink.

Interesting.  Not familiar with this line.  The only Colorverse ink I have is a bottle of Stars & Stripes (the plain version, not the shimmer version).

Just did a quick check online, and Pen Chalet seems to have at least some of them (there doesn't seem to be one for Pennsylvania, though :().

I hope no one minds, but I don't get to 'show off' my Cracked ice much.

'50's Austrian Rusewe, semi-flex not a stub, cork gasket. Was once...NOS.

The company still exists but don't make fountain pens any more.

Small 4 1/2"/11,4cm, posted 5 1/4"/13.5cm

For '50's that is a top flight ball point. That is a standard sized ball point for the times, which shows how small the fountain pen is.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Ah, but a check with a great brick and mortar plus online seller in Chicago shows there is a Pennsylvania version. I’ve shopped at Atlas Stationers in person and online. They are very trustworthy.

Hmmm.  Not the color I'd have picked for a bronze bell, but that is a nice looking color....

Thanks for posting the link.  And, well, not.... :headsmack:

WOW!  Those look to be in really good condition!  Really seem to be in WAY better shape than the 1926 Parker Lucky Curve/Duofold ringtop I bought a few years ago (which I still have to get up and running -- once I figure out where it is in my house, that is... :headsmack:).

I have to ask, though -- Are the "cracking" lines blue?  Or are they just showing that way on my screen and are really black, like the section and finials?

'50's Austrian Rusewe,

The other one.....Someone here, told me about them...:notworthy1: He's not around any more that I can tell, but that was a grand tip; for both. This one's standard sized.....and another one of my prettier pens. It too was NOS.rkQUdjI.jpghslHzkC.jpg

That set is pretty too!  What sort of fill system does it have?  I'm guessing from the second photo (the close up of the imprint shows the ink window and something inside the barrel) that it's a piston filler?

Yeah, some color choices don’t seem spot on. I’ve decided Colorverse was trying to match the stainless steel of the St. Louis Arch for Missouri. I’m still waiting for Sailor to make the Missouri ink to see what they decided for my state.

If you’ve never bought from Atlas Stationers before, it might turn out you’ll like their selections. My brother was in there recently. It used to be an office supply store, and evidently they’ve pivoted to more of the things FPN people shop for.  They run a Tournament of Pens bracket contest in March kind of like March Madness for the NCAA.

The color blue that they chose for Tar Heel is definitely not Carolina Blue!

@USG

Here is the TWSBI Eco Indigo in action. I’d say this ink is neither wet nor dry. Though when I used it on Mnemosyne paper, it did feel dry.

Ruth

Both are piston fillers with cork gaskets which was an old fashioned way of doing things....most had gone over to Plastic Gasket 1.0 in '38 or so. By '55 plastic Gasket 2.0 had come in.

Cork is the smoothest of the gaskets...Marshal and Oldfield said that in their Pen Repair book.
