Well, this arrived not today, but over a week ago:

It's a shame; I picked up this Majohn A1 on AliExpress for <US$15 (taxed and delivered to Australia). At least, when I finally got around to opening a dispute, with this clip (not in GIF format, of course) and some photos attached, earlier this evening, AliExpress gave me a full refund… in under three minutes! They'd have barely had time to read the details of the dispute and review the evidence submitted.

That was fast. Glad it worked out for you.

Cat I once had 5 of the 8 gray Estie and 3 of the 5 Greens...that is a grand green Estie that I didn't have..

Last Saturday i won two pens, and because I was blind and I didn't see the MB was a 32 eyeballed OF, semi-flex gold nib. I made a post asking....

The Kaweco Sport is a 12G (started 1960)) gold semi-flex  F nib. I had put off chasing, looking for a gold semi-flex nib and a piston pen also.

12 G.....and I had read that as 126.

1960 started, same pen advertised in 1965...1970 new nib...a spade one...and not advertised any more. Still in the semi-flex era...

I have a couple other '60's semi-flex nibbed pens that are not stubs, and this one isn't a stub. Even have a Pelikan 400nn that is not stubbed, so this is the 4th '60's pen that I have that is not stubbed.

Helps to polish the tarnished gold nib on the MB, before one inks it:huh:...MB Diamond, a blue ink.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The Kaweco Al-sport is probably my biggest regret. I like so much the look of this pen but I absolutely dislike posting pens so I know if I buy it it will just be a waste. I had a sport and I also disliked how it felt in the hand when posted. Such a pity.

Are there any yellow Al-Stars (besides the golden one)?

It depends on which era each of us grew up in.

I've posted my fountain pens since the first day in the late '50's. Some pens are made for posting, like the Sport, or Standard sized pen.

IMO standard and medium-long/large ones were designed to be balanced posted.

A bit of wax prevents mars.

I can understand not posting most large pens, in they have mediocre to horrible balance posted.....Large pens came in after i quit FP's in the mid '60's. (IMO bling pens to be seen across a conference table) The PFM was out when I was in Jr. High, but I never saw one in real life...it had no balance...a huge and clunky thing.

The Snorkel a thin large pen has great balance. The P-45 has good to very good balance for a large pen. ...Of Course i post them, but could understand someone not posting those two pens.

Actually came a couple of days ago -- the Gold and Black al-Star with an F nib which I ordered from Cult Pens.

No pix yet, sorry, other than the listing itself: https://cultpens.com/en-us/products/lamy-al-star-fountain-pen-gold-special-edition?variant=43643156398323.  Got it flushed out and then yesterday filled it with Robert Oster Astorquiza Rot (yeah, I know -- black ink would probably look stellar coming out of this pen, but I've already got a pen inked up with black ink at the moment ).

I got one of those a few months ago. Love it. I commented then that it came with a black cartridge, instead of the usual blue, and used that. Put up a pic with writing sample too.

I may give the cartridge of Lamy Black which came with the al-Star to my husband to put in the blue Safari he had me order for him a while back when I was ordering the Lilac al-Star SE.  Not sure what ink he's got in that pen (right now he's got a bottle of Namiki Black (but I suspect I'll have to order more soon because he doesn't know what he did with one of the bottles) and a bottle of Noodler's Dark Matter.

It's funny -- when that al-Star first came out, it didn't generate much notice with me at all.  But when I was looking at the listing on Cult Pens, it really caught my eye.

I seem to be a sucker for Safaris and al-Stars which have colored clips, rather than the plain steel ones....  Maybe because the first one I bought was the Dark Lilac Safari....

So far, I’d say only the golden one. Most of the yellow Kaweco pens are plastic, and either regional or store exclusives. The deep red AL is on my list, as I build up credit card cash back to use on it.

I got three pens today. Two shipped from Hong Kong, both Kaweco, and the other is a Conklin Duragraph Voyager. I’ll post photos when I get around to taking them. The AL Aurora green is a dark shade, and will need good lighting.

This pen arrived today, with a little bit of delay due to a storm we had in the Netherlands yesterday.

Well, depends on how you view the Bronze al-Star SE (which is more orange/brown in color -- at least from the photos I've seen -- than yellow).

Don't remember if there are any LX colors that fall into that range of the color spectrum -- I only have the Ruthenium one, and that one *mostly* because of the closeout sale that Lamy's old US distributor had a few years, which made it about the price of a Safari (which ironically, was the sale price of the Gold & Black al-Star SE).

Not today, but this week, this pen arrived. I bought the keepsake box underneath it in anticipation of receiving the pen. I think they fit a theme.

The pen is a Conklin Duragraph Voyager with Amber ends and with birch wood. Naturally I got it with a 1.1mm stub nib. It has not been filled yet. I’m not going with a matching ink, though I have one named Amber like the cap and end piece are called. I’m thinking of Diamine 150th anniversary Safari.

Let us know how you like it as far as the weight and such.  Recently, I've been sort of looking at some Duragraphs as well as some of the Monteverde pens, because I want to try an Omniflex nib at some point.

I didn't realise it had a wood barrel as well. When I searched to look for Amber Duragraphs they were all just transparent all over. Very handsome!

I like Diamine Safari too.

I called the pen by Amber, when it is a Duragraph Voyager. Oops. I fixed it in my earlier post. @AmandaW

Here are two Conklin Duragraph pens I’ve received in the last week, both with amber color parts.

The top pen is the Duragraph Amber, and then the Duragraph Voyager. The Voyager has a more yellow “Amber”.  The Voyager is on sale on Fountain Pen Hospital’s website. That’s where I got mine.

A new Leonardo Model, the "Audace," arrived this evening. It is as long as a MZ Grande but girthier and has no step-down from barrel to sections. The 14Kt 1.1mm stub nib is crisp and smooth - a great writer.
