I got this pen today. Latest impulsive buy. Showing my (newly acquired) green pen. I hope cross posting is not severely punished.

Leonardo 2023 Dutch Pen Show LE. Reminds me of a Summer frozen dessert. Vanilla-Mint Gelato? Hmmm... The pen looks better than that sounds!

Oooh, it looks better than its teaser did, too! Very nice looking pen! Enjoy!

The design of this pen seems to go well with my impression of Brahms music (not necessarily in a good way) -- a little stodgy and pompous. I don't think I'm going to love it like I do my Virginia Woolf. But I'll have a better idea once I have written with it.

I have inked it up and written with it now, and I like it. The Fine nib is quick and responsive without being too wet. The looks are still meh, but that's not my primary interest anyway (although the exterior design of a pen can take me from liking it to loving it). And that box is safely stowed where I won't have to see or think about it.

A long time ago, I said no more black pens. I live in the worlds capitol of black pens...Germany.

Since then, 2/5th of the pens I bought were black.(in vintage pens which is what I chase)....some were from brands I chase....others were in live auction lots, with a perhaps colored pen.............which are scarce and out side of Pelikan seem to cost 1/3 more than the basic black and gold.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Yeah, that's my problem too.  Because I tend to buy vintage pens, I'm much more limited in what colors are available for a reasonable price.

It's not like I'm trying to join the Black Pen Society by ANY stretch of the imagination, but that's what I'm more likely to find in the wild.

I noticed that the price goes up as color is added too, but Sometimes I think it's all about the nib...🤔

This pen, a Kaweco Ocean Blue, arrived today. It is a SE Asia exclusive, shipped from Singapore. Blue isn’t easy to photograph, and the flash image was less true. This is a bit darker than the color I see.

Today received this nice pre-loved faceted green Pilot Vanishing Point / Capless with a smooth M nib.

(I wanted to write vintage Vanishing point but decided to only call things vintage when it is older then myself 😉)

In comparison with the current model:

Interesting.  It looks smaller than the current model (presuming that's the striped one in the top of the photo).

Both the striped and black pen are current models, the black pen looks a little slimmer on the photo but they are the same size.

The older model is only about 2mm shorter but a lot slimmer and lighter. It does feel a little more comfortable to hold due to the design of the front section and the clip which in this version is made out of one piece. of metal The clip also stays closer to the body compared to current model which also makes it more comfortable.

Two orders arrived today with pens. One was from Milligram in Australia. I got the Kaweco AL Raw Aluminum, and the Sport Skyline in gray. They are hanging out in the tin the AL came in.

Well, this arrived not today, but over a week ago:

It's a shame; I picked up this Majohn A1 on AliExpress for <US$15 (taxed and delivered to Australia). At least, when I finally got around to opening a dispute, with this clip (not in GIF format, of course) and some photos attached, earlier this evening, AliExpress gave me a full refund… in under three minutes! They'd have barely had time to read the details of the dispute and review the evidence submitted.

Hi Misfit

They look great.  I"m a fan. 😀👍

Is it the photo or does the Aluminum one have a slightly different shape?

Have you inked it yer? If so, what nib, how does it write?

@USG I plan on inking it later. I think it looks different because of reflection. Once it has ink, I’ll post a photo of it alone with writing. Had to get an M nib, as it was the largest available.

edit:

I’m sharing two photos, one with flash, one without. The photo with flash is more true to color, but the pen looks not so true.

Without flash, the pen looks better, but colors are not quite right, though they are representative of the lighting in the room.
