I got this pen today

My Lumos Duo tip arrived this morning from Tom's Studio.

Easy to follow video instructions on his website and the pen wrote straight away.

A great invention cutting down on wastage of pen bodies etc and a nice writer.

Looking forward to experimenting with it so all my Snail Mail buddies can expect decorated envelopes now! 😄

I didn’t think I’d get another Jinhao 82. However I saw this color on Reddit, and it’s one of those things which can cause me to want something. Usually it’s space themes, yet coffee is another. I got the coffee brown Lamy Al-Star, a coffee brown Jinhao 399, and now this coffee Jinhao.

You are way behind on these. I got almost every color of these. I have 29 different colors. I am missing the demonstrator one they just put out. I can't post a picture because I've made custom pens out of all of them by swapping caps and finials, and also i just love to play grinding their nibs into "semi architects" not that much variation but still noticeable on these fine nibs, an excellent way to practice before doing more expensive pens, like my Pelikan m805 Ocean Swirl which I hated since the day I got it.

Yea, the top one just unscrews and the bottom one is friction fit easy to remove. They are not glued. Be careful on the bottom one not to lose the golden ring, I forgot on one pen to put it back and I was so confused on why the bottom finial would not go all the way back even though I was pushing on it like a gorilla🤣

Now that's interesting  👍👍   A refillable fiber tip that fills like a Parker 61.   Does the reservoir wash out easily?

I have not yet tried cleaning them having only just inked them up.

We could be pen triplets, wait with Smug we’d be pen quadruplets

Sooo the pen accidentally-on purpose landed in my Amazon cart and then I bought something else and "forgot" it was there.

Arrived today, but told myself I am not allowed to play with it until we have finished moving next week

I did open it up for a few pics... just to make sure nothing was obviously damaged... because that is just good practice and not playing with it.

Nice!  Is the pen metal, acrylic or a combination?  I couldn't tell from the pic, does it use standard Sheaffer cartridges?

@Waltz For Zizi So far on my Jinhao 82 pens, I’ve only managed to swap the two end caps from the green to the blue and the blue to the green. The green has gold tone trim, and the blue has silver tone trim. So I’m not sure how much to swap.  The coffee brown is staying as is. I’m liking the teal sparkle version I saw online.

Trouble is, I don’t think I need too many more of these pens. I have so many pens.  I think I’ve reached the point where I am starting to wish I’d bought differently. For instance, now I wish I’d bought Kaweco Sport special editions instead of Lamy Safari and Al-Star special editions. I don’t reach for the Lamy pens much. Though I’m in a bad state of pen affairs.  So many need cleaning, so many are inked. Storage is not great.

Pens

  • Sailor Lecoule in Teal Green
  • Sailor Profit Junior Harappa – Anteater (with a small bottle of Sailor Ink Studio 223 included in the package)
  • Platinum Plaisir Teal Green special edition (not that I have a use for the M nib with which it is factory-fitted)
  • (another) Platinum Plaisir Black Mist special edition

I spy Ainezu... that is a beautiful colour. (I use it in a Slate Grey Prera with a CM nib. Love it.)

Will work for pens...

According to SheafferTarga: “Black lacquered finish with a delicately chased paisley pattern, gold plated clip, fitted with a 14ct gold recessed nib.” It uses regular Sheaffer cartridges. I love these recessed nibs.

Nine(?) more bottles I ordered last week are either in transit or awaiting dispatch.

Three other bottles arrived yesterday, but they were ordered on AliExpress, and thus not shown in the photo above (as the title of the image specifically referred to Amazon Japan).

Pro tip : Don't buy irrational quantities of ink especially if you write once a week at best (unless you are into offering ink as inheritance )
