Osmoroid was once very big in italic nibs.

I remember an art teacher (Jr High or High School) who would talk about italic nib pens and then mention "the Osmiroid pen" in exalted tones, like it should be kept in a vault. It was the same tone of voice my high school English teacher used for "Oxford English Dictionary."

You’re very welcome, but I hope your new pen gives you no trouble at all!

Thanks to your help, I received the pen.

I was surprised at how small it is. I don't mind thin pens, but it looks like a children's fountain pen. There was also a converter in the barrel.

The pen runs smoothly without pressure, and although it is a fine nib, it is possible to write with XF line width for now.

It is a very Kawaii pen.

My Majohn P136 arrived today and so far - just dipped - it seems great out of the box 🙂. We seem to now be at a stage where Chinese brands manage to achieve this whereas European ones don't (the Kaweco from my last post was really hard work) 🙈.

Mine arrived today as well. Unfortunately, it appears to have been stomped on at some point, and is not in quite such happy shape.

Could so easily have been avoided by just some basic packaging, rather than just a very thinly padded envelope.

(and I have since cleaned the ink from under my fingernail)

Something like this happened to me too and it wasn't even an international package. It was a Porsche design p3150 and both metal ends got dented. I was so mad, because there was no return on it.

If this was an eBay purchase, I hope you at least applied for a refund, even if they didn't want or take the pen back. "No returns" doesn't mean "no recourse."

Today I received a Jinhao X159 purchased from or through Temu. I rather like their shipping approach. I'm not sure how they work it, but they promised to give a $5 credit if it didn't get here by April 27th, and they easily did that. Most of their deliveries are 12 days or less, and mine was 11 days. From China. Anyway, I bought the pen as a cheap holder for a Bock 380 Titanium nib (which hasn't arrived yet). I hope I can make that work.

I bought it from a local website like similar to ebay but there is no protection like it is on ebay. You have to be very carefull. I still have the pen because it is a nice writer and I really like the shape of it's nib and de very long section.

Just arrived in a simple padded envelope. I was a bit scared I might end up like mizgeorge but fortunately the pens arrived in good condition.

My P136 shattered near the piston knob after being dropped from a modest height (I posted about it some weeks ago). Evidently the resin is fairly brittle. Too bad there is no way to buy just a replacement barrel, but since the pen is inexpensive I may just order a whole new one.

I have to give Aliexpress all due credit.  I sent the pictures in yesterday morning, and got a full refund issued today.

I'll buy another one, though I'm seeing some at really suspiciously low prices right now that must be too good to be true...

A Cross Botanica purple Orchid arrived today. The listing indicated it came with two cartridges. To my happy surprise, one was a converter.

I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that it's the retailers job to get it to you in one peice.

For UK supplied goods (not in this case obviously)  it goes even further, it has to be  'Fit for purpose',   'As described' and is of 'Satisfactory quality'  as described in the Consumer Rights Act 2015

https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act-aKJYx8n5KiSl

Either way, glad you got it sorted out.

Happy to see that!!
That does not sound good @BlueJ. I still haven't inked mine up, but maybe I had better not fall in love with it?!

Are you afraid of fakes? Or some other problem?

Will work for pens...

I'm not familiar with the "Colour Calligraphy Set." How does it differ from the "regular" calligraphy set? Let me guess ... The pen isn't black? Or is it just that it comes with colored ink cartridges?

I'm not 'familiar' either..... I got 'enabled' one night after too many G&T's when I probably should have been in bed ....🤣 🤣 🤣   The pen is most definitely black and comes with 4 nibs....and comes with 10 ink cartridges and a converter......an A4 pad of calligraphy paper, a book about colour calligraphy and instructions.  It should keep me quiet on, as my Auntie (who was a lunchtime supervisor at a Primary School) used to call them 'Its definitely an 'indoor play' day today' ....Usually when it's raining heavily....

4 nibs, a converter, and a how to book...great deal.

A how to book really helps.

I have a how too book, I need to take a hammer and chisel to to break it open from fossilized dust. But when I do get it open, sigh, I can actually follow it....now to get to B, b.

Today I received the Montblanc Writers Series Virginia Woolf LE fountain pen with a Fine nib. I loved the way it looked in the photos, and now I love the way it feels when I hold it in my hand. I have not yet written with it. (this is not a photo of my pen, but it is a better-looking photo than I could probably take). I like the way the wave-shaped surface carving seems to echo the wavy/bulbous shape of the pen. I like the significance of the two elms inscribed on the nib. The pen looks  conservative and yet different. Probably my best acquisition this year.
