This one was a little slow in the post and with the tracking not telling me anything, I was getting worried. Then today it showed up - a good thing we were home to sign for it.

A Pilot pocket pen in teal with a Script nib. I lost count of the number of water changes in the ultrasonic cleaner - lots and lots of blue ink came out. It has cleaned up pretty well I think. Now it needs some ink... 💙

It’s beautiful 😍

This was a bit of an impulse buy, but I'm so pleased with it. It's without doubt the best polished ebonite I've got, and the design is so nicely thought out that it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Pocket pen from Pen7 - I think there are still just a few left at a very, very reduced price and can't recommend them highly enough.

That looks very cool! Is it an italic nib?

That's good news! And a very nice pair of pens.

The second pen model is a Wahl-Eversharp Skyline, by the way. Wahl was the maker, Eversharp was the umbrella branding for their higher-end models, and Doric and Skyline were model names. (In case you weren't familiar with them.)

It looks like your Doric has an adjustable nib, a feature that is usually highly prized. You can affect the softness/flexibility of the nib by moving the slider up and down.

The Skyline nib looks like it might be a Signature, which is a semi-flex nib. It should say on the nib itself, but I can't read it from the photo.

Oh wow, I hope it helped with the gross feelings from  the cheap tray debacle.  That is a lovely nib, and that teal is one of my favorites. I’m going to be on the lookout for one now.

Lovely!  Do you know if the feeds are Ebonite on Pen 7's range of pens ?  I quite like the look of some of the larger pens.

I have two of his pocket pens. They are my favorite pocket pens.

They do seem delicate but are beautifully made.

I'll add one of the full size soon.

They are just standard Bock nibs.

Thank you for that info, much appreciated.

The Skyline just has Eversharp 14k made in USA on the nib.

Yes, I did know that about the Doric and it was the adjustable nib I was after all that time so when I got it, plus a matching pencil, I was very happy!

I received my matte black Targa (1003) today, just as pretty as I remember it. I don’t know what size the nib is, it’s soaking since there was a black cartridge left in the pen for a long time. I think the converter is pristine, and there are 3 black cartridges left in the package. I paid less for it than the sticker price.  When its turn in the rotation comes, there’s a Peacock Blue cartridge waiting for it, or maybe a converter of King’s Gold.

Coincidentally, my first SHEAFFER pen, a Targa (1002) with a matte black body and stainless nib, is on its way to me as well.

I know mine is different because it has a stainless steel nib, but what kind of writing experience does Targa have?

I haven’t tried this particular pen yet, but my first Targa had a beautiful medium point that was a bit large for my handwriting at the time, but I would make myself write larger because it felt really nice. It was long enough ago that I don’t remember much else. I have a dozen pens inked right now, so I’m not going to try it just yet. I will say my other Sheaffer(‘s) pens run wet, like Pelikans. I tend to use Pelikan and Sheaffer inks in them. If I have an ink that feels dry on a glass nib, I try it first in a Sheaffer.

It's lovely to hold. The nib is a standard Bock stub, but that may well change...

As already said, they're standard Bock units, but I'm lucky enough to have a bunch of spare red ebonite feeds in the right size, so I plan to change that.

[Actually not today: 2 days ago, but...]

A ballpoint! :o It's the first ballpoint I have intentionally purchased since I became a fountain pen enthusiast (others came along with fountain pens). I feel dirty.

That said, I don't feel too dirty because it is a medium size S. T. Dupont Montparnasse Chairman Ambre, a difficult to find and quite beautiful Chinese urushi over guilloche finish, and at a very low price. (I have a matching medium size fountain pen, my first Dupont.) Older urushi Dupont models are my guilty pleasure.

The refill is dry and Dupont's are pretty expensive. Monteverde has a compatible one at a reasonable price but I am wondering if I can find a gel refill that fits? (I probably won't even bother and it will sit with my other Duponts, merely looking pretty. If so, it will be only my third pen that I have no serious intention to use [EDIT], or, if not use, sell.)

Here's the two Dupont Montparnasse Chairman Ambre pens together - ballpoint and fountain pen, both medium size. And a photo of all my Duponts so far, except for a user grade (clip sides pretty beat up and a spot of lacquer missing on the clip face), dark brown + gold dust Classique mk1 fountain pen that is on its way to me now. Sorry for the glare - I was trying to get the guilloche on the Chairmans to really light up.

The amber (or honey?) colored La Plume Ultime is actually my favorite finish of all of them - the colors change beautifully depending on the light and angle of viewing and there's an amazing visual depth to the urushi. I would like to get a nib unit for the Grenat rollerball so it can be converted to a fountain pen (the cap and barrel of the rb & fp are the same). There's a black Gatsby fountain pen that I am really tempted by but I've promised myself to sell some pens before I buy it. I'm only interested in lacquered Duponts and not very interested in any of the models after the Gatsby [EDIT] Montparnasse - I prefer the more cylindrical designs of the early models, it seems like fakes of these models can be fairly easily identified based on the look of the serial number, and not many models more contemporary than the Montparnasse come up on the second hand pen market here. Perhaps Dupont faded as the high society pen brand of choice here sometime in the 1990s and Montblanc took over.

Thank you.

I think your suggestions will be helpful in the future when the pen experiences some functional trouble.
