Is this a special Aurora model? or is it a Ferrari pen made by Aurora? I'm very curious to see it! (I searched and only found examples of the latter)

Yes, just a pen (this is FPN, after all). I'm quite content with my Volvo.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

1970 red Pilot Elite, frosted champagne cap, 18k Script nib.

I have only seen the red as a lady's Elite (thin clip on the cap + flowers sometimes) but I have seen a reddish pink one like this. This current burgundy Elite 95s looks very similar except for the color, of course, and the 95s's nib is more exposed.

No more in the queue ... for now!

That's a really pretty color pen!

Are you referring to the reddish pink Pilot Elite? I meant to write that I have *not* seen one in that color before.

I like it too. I'm a guy but I still really like these coral pink, flowered Pilot ladies' pocket pens I received recently. And they do not look dated at all to me. (It doesn't hurt that both are fantastic writers, even with smaller nibs than the Elites.)

I think Pilot had really tasteful designs and, in my opinion, it's a pity that the Japanese 3 went the Montblanc Meisterstuck-look route with many of their pens.

Technically it was yesterday evening, but I've just spent the morning straightening out and tightening up the 14k nib on this new old pen. It's another Diplomat for my collection and another one I don't know the model name of. As far as I can tell, it's a transitional model that is basically the same as the 41 model but is an early cartridge filler (ca. 1958) instead of a piston. No idea if they gave it another model number or just kept calling them 41s. 🤷‍♀️ The little semi-hooded nib is another excellent writer, though! (This one even has a teeny tiny bit of flex, or rather flair, as I'm told...)

It's been a Pilot kind of day today. The Custom Heritage 91 M has been slow getting here and was presumed lost. Twice. I have inked it with the very cheery Iro Yama-budo because I needed cheery. The violet Kakuno was an impulse buy at the office supply store... same reason. Haven't decided what to put in that yet - maybe Van Dieman's Eggplant.

HOW IT STARTED:

'My, what a pretty pen! I've been admiring the Waldmann Tuscany for a while now. Maybe I'll get this one...'

large.IMG_2375.JPG.abafbbec2612ec37d9e82b7fb3968e0c.JPG

HOW IT WENT:

'Oh, wait, what? You also have some older Diplomats that might fit well in my collection? SHOPPING SPREE!!' 😄

Surprise pen. An unexpected gift my son brought back from a trip a country town. There was a local artisan selling wood things including this pen. I think the wood is jarrah. Apparently the fittings are imported from Taiwan and difficult to get at the moment - he maker only received five out of his order for twelve. It's quite heavy, but beautifully made. :)
