Wow, that G nib looks interesting. I may need to try one of those out!

Have fun with that haul!

Thanks, I surely will! Compared with the not modded x450s, the feed looks wider to accommodate the greater ink flow the nib needs. It will be an interesting experiment.  The price went up since I bought it, but here’s the URL in case the shopping bug bites you:

I'll bite. What's a G-nib?  And how was it modified?  (I love learning new things!)

I believe the G-nib refers to a Zebra-G dip nib.

Although it is Japanese, it can be translated with a browser.

I also have Tachikawa's School G, but it's a fun pen. School G will be a disposable replacement if used to some extent.

I am also interested in how to replace the pen tip.

This finally arrived yesterday:

large.1601375519_Aurora888Terrainpresentationbox.jpg.9ff2e74d3e55a3d86ee6822e898a46db.jpg

I thought I'd miss the spaceship on this limited edition, while waiting to spot one new on offer at a favourable price; it was sold out ‘everywhere’ before I found a good enough bargain on which to pull the trigger. So, I was absolutely delighted when a handful of these popped up, on a list of specials no less! Alas, the F nib was the finest on offer that time, and so uncharacteristically I bought an Aurora that does not have an EF nib, which I find only just acceptable when it comes to putting down a narrow enough line.

Oh, and I was always under the impression that the blue nib on this model had a matt finish, which would look somewhat out of place next to the blue auroloide section. I'm very glad to be mistaken, and the nib turns out to have a glossy finish.

It’s a dip pen nib used for calligraphy or manga style drawing. There’s been some people experimenting with placing them on a modified number 6 feed (the ink channel was widened) of a cheap pen. The pen  I linked to had already had this modification done to it. It was really inexpensive, but the shipping takes forever.

Okay.  I have one of the early Desiderata prototypes, and I hated the Zebra-G nib on it.  It tore into nearly every type of paper I had, except for Clairefontaine.  But then the first time I met Pierre in person, it was the last time I went to DCSS (back a few years ago at the old hotel in Tyson's Corners) and the demo pens he had at his table were way better -- so I apparently just got a bum nib on mine.

One of these days I'll get around to replacing the nib....

That's a really pretty rod stock they used on that pen!

Scored at the Dutch Pen Show today from Turkish Stüdyo Ağaçkakan a WP2 design in striped Italian acrylic. A nice muted olive green, black and white. And I couldn't resist this gorgeous brass pen rest to go with it! large.36588C1E-F7CD-46E1-A259-80E45E1A0278.JPEG.5fedbdffd219dd438faa21d235f38772.JPEG

They came!  The Monteverde Mountains of the World pen I’ve wanted. K2 on the left was the one I went looking for. Mount Fuji on the right is the bonus. I’m so pleased to finally have K2.

Missing!  Somewhere in the house, the pen on the left is missing. Aaugh! I have looked and looked.  I found a missing eraser while looking under my bed. I want my K2 pen!!!! Gah! Frustrating.

It does look like some sort of camouflage pattern designed to hide in plain view.

It didn't accidentally go home with your brother?

Will work for pens...

Wow.

I never heard of them, which compelled me to visit their website. Wowza - love the Turkish cultural touches ... and urushi too, even ...

Are they focused on pen show sales? I ask because every pen listed on their website is out of stock.

Yes, I love the ones with the clips and bands in that octagonal Turkish star design! They are gorgeous. I saw them IRL at the pen show yesterday and they make a very nice (heavy) overlay over very pretty marbled pen colors. I really wanted to get one, but they were quite expensive (LEs) and - luckily! - I didn't have that much cash on me, haha! I'll be saving up for one and ordering it from them in Turkey, I think. (No import duties in the EU when buying from Turkey, so that's a plus.) And I got the brass pen holder with the same design to tide me over until I can afford one! (By the way, the pen holder includes the bit of leather that it sits on! And you can choose the color you want. The kimono sleeve for the pen as well.)

I was also looking at their website yesterday to see what my pen is called exactly, and I too noticed that there is barely anything there. I think what may have happened is that they took (nearly) all their pens to the pen show and, for simplicity, took all the inventory out of the webshop. I know they use their webshop because that is where I actually saw this pen first. I just hadn't yet pulled the trigger on ordering it. When I saw they were going to be at the pen show, I emailed to ask if they were bringing it with them. And they were kind enough to hold it for me until I could come and test it out, as well.

And, yes, their urushi pens were beautiful!!!

Thanks also, @mtcn77, @amberleadavis, and @AmandaW! I love it!

(Edited to correct the ornamentation as the octagonal Turkish star and not as I had previously and naively assumed, an Islamic decorative motif!)
