The Lamy 1.1 nib is ideal for writers who do small print. However, there are differences from one nib to another. The first 1.1 nib I had was on a Safari. Then I bought a Joy for my daughter and was surprised to find that the line was appreciably smaller. This has advantages and disadvantages. With the Z50 1.1 with the smaller stroke, the line variation is less noticeable. Still, it has a nice stroke. The thinner one has a rounded tip and the thicker one an almost square one.
For tiny letters, it should be a 0.6 or so

That's useful insight, thanks 👍

My first impression is that my Lamy 1.1i nib is very-slightly wider than the 'M' nib on my Pilot Plumix.
Pilot lists the nominal width of that nib as 0.58mm, so I would guess that my 1.1i is approximately 0.6mm wide.

I do have two cursive/italic nibs that are finer than these two - a Plumix with an 'F' nib (nominal width 0.44mm) and a 1950s Pelikan 400 'F'. That nib also has a cursive-italic grind, and it is of a similar width to the Plumix 'F'.

I am currently enjoying 'playing' with the 1.1i. Its size forces me to slow down my writing, and so improves the legibility of my scrawl 😀

Those pen sleeves look nice!  Are they leather?

The pen looks interesting too -- I'm quite amused by the clip.

I got a roll of .02 brass sheeting from Amazon, and really flossed and applied some even pressure too on the tines.

Wow, I've never done this on a brand new pen.  However, if one imagines there might be a tiny burr or a bit of debris from nib manufacturing, then this makes total sense.

This is my Fountain Pen Day purchase: a standard black makrolon Lamy 2000 <F>.

I am liking it already.  I find the appearance pleasing and the brushed polycarbonate barrel and metal grip are nice to hold. With this shape, size, and material, I've already taken to carrying it in my front pants pocket.  It's almost certain to become a daily use pen for me.

Eatons fountain pen!!

My second ebonite pen and first vintage ebonite and first eye dropper pen.

XF to BB...first flex nib...gonna say medium flex? takes some pressure

Love this pen!!

Eatons was like the Amazon of its day (1860s to 1990s?) Great piece of Canadiana. Near as I can tell this must be 1905 to 1922? The Winnipeg location did not open until 1905 and from what I can find publications stop listing both Toronto and Winnipeg around 1922

No idea who actually made the pen...100% it is just branded Eatons.

Thank you! I sought it out after I got and loved a Montblanc 256 and discovered all the 25x pens suffer from or are under threat of cracks in the cap. This one is functionally identical to a 25x pen but with a metal cap that won’t crack.

I got my Pilot Custom Heritage 91 in blue with FM nib today. Back in 2017 I had it in Tsuyu-yo and sold it when my taste went to B nibs. I was missing it so now have this one. It's a good addition to my collection which now is up to Pilot 14 pens out of 134 I own. Here is the pen alone and with a few of my pilots.

Right now I have Harmonious Green inked...maybe in the future I will try something that shades nicer?? Other than a quick clean this pen was good to go...was too scared to knock out the nib for a full clean!

I like that if doesn't flex too easily...is a perfect xf for my poor quality work notebooks.( this is clairefontaine though)...and some normal writing on a no name pad

I was expecting one item in the mail today. Instead it was a great mail day with three packages. The pen in the mail is a Kaweco Sport Frosted Banana with M nib. Since I’m watching a Mizzou football game, I should put a Kaweco Pearl Black ink cartridge in it, and make it my Missouri Tigers pen.

A winter scarf is in the photo, I got it, and a Fossil bracelet I got on eBay in the mail also.

Thank you for the writing sample. The flex looks great. I haven’t tried Waterman Harmonious Green. It looks like a nice green. I do prefer shading inks.

My Lamy Safari EF in Charcoal arrived today, along with a box of Lamy T10 black cartridges.

It's obviously much lighter than all of my metal pens.  Feels good, though.  Still need to compare it to the Jinhao 65 with 03 nib and see how well it writes in my planner.  If it's a keeper, I'll get a converter for it.

  I like the scarf backdrop idea, @Misfit, @USG. Plus, it’s a 🍌 pen!

What nib is on the WS629, @USG?
