Inexpensive large faceted pen from the Spanish company INOXCHROM, model Corinthian. The quality of manufacture is not bad, the pen fits comfortably in the hand. The steel in-house nib writes well, in terms of feel it is not much different from German nibs.large.IMG_0649.jpeg.36923fd927fec827222e1fb239523b22.jpeglarge.IMG_0651.jpeg.0198f75339b95d0cf84ea9f027e7b2c5.jpeglarge.IMG_0650.jpeg.cbec039ef7b8f884b6cb84b504dfd1ca.jpeg

This came via DHL yesterday.  146.  I have a brown Pelikan ink in it.  I think Sailor Pro, then Namiki Art are my favorite two of my 4 pens.

Pete,

You are off to a great start! I've checked.  There is no medication available for this affliction.

Picked up a Pelikan M800 from its first two years of production (87/88). Full report on it here:

So, sitting in my locked office's suite, I heard the front entry door make a metallic click over lunch; just had a funny feeling Fedex would come over lunch instead of mid afternoon. Hustled to and exited the door and grabbed the driver as he was putting the box back in the truck. Phew.

Indeed, a huge box he had.  All my other pens delivered have been in boxes about the size of a tie box. Ink-House in Hong Kong package.  Shipping was only 2ish days, but it did take a full week for Ink-House to process and had off the order to Fedex.

A nice shiny "ribbed" sterling silver 100th anniversary Platinum 3776 Century was delivered.  Pen 1061 of 2000.  Ink-House had it for a significant sale price 700ish--- down from 950.
Included the oversized display box with bottle of 100th anniversary ink, and a nice large soft cover Platinum book.

Fedex did not inquire about a toxic materials form --but I had one prepared just in case.

Pictures will wait until Tuesday as I'm about to retreat from the office early for the longer weekend.

My acquisition from the Colorado Pen Show this year.  Conway Stewart Wellington in Classic Brown, 18K M nib.  Purchased from the Pen Realm table, which is Kirk Speer's retail business, great nib technician and all his secondhand pens are pretty thoroughly checked out and tuned from my experience.

I received this Levenger True Writer Flourish Forest pen with F nib on Tuesday.  I filled it with, of course, Levenger Forest ink. The pen has a sparkly look in the green parts. It also has black areas.

The Platinum is the one that arrived last week.  The Pilot arrived yesterday afternoon. Have 3 or 4 other wants but they are all in short supply and expensive--so notning

further in the cards for now.

Pete,

Now that you have 'wet your beak' in FPs,  what are you finding? Any styles, nib choices,  brands, etc that float your boat?

(I know, Lotta metaphors)

I seem to like them all; but interestingly, the Montblanc I would put in last place.  Perhaps because I bought it used.  Unless pressing firmly, it will occasionally "skip"--is that what you call it when a stroke doesn't produce ink?  When it was new I dry scribbled for a sec and could see the faintest indication of---perhaps trace ink...?  Maybe it required a more thorough cleaning? Not sure but it seems to be fine as long as I press more firmly than I do with the other pens.  Oh, and I about forgot --it has been busy the past week; I haven't even inked these latest two yet!

So, Sailor Pro, Narwahl and Namiki---would be hard pressed to like one over the others---and fine or medium both seem ok to me.  Also, no preference so far as far as bottled inks, cartridge vs piston, vs convertor etc.

I guess I'm easy to please, so long as it writes and the style attracts me, then I'm good!

Thanks for the update.  Mb is no different than other pen. Just a great PR over the decades.

There is something wrong with the Montblanc. Maybe better cleaning will help, but you might need nib adjustments. The pen should write with only its weight pressing down on the nib. Start simple... clean the pen and let the nib soak in water over night and see if it releases more ink from the feed.

It will except the occasional stroke--that is when I noticed it (the occasional skip) wouldn't happen if I applied some pressure.  When it's time I feel I want to change ink, I will thoroughly clean and see what happens. Thanks for the reply!

If it keeps happening, send it to Kirk Speer- he’s a MontBlanc whisperer.

I think he visits Dromgooles and repairs/grinds nibs periodically, if that is in anyway close to you (I know TX distances are crazy). His instagram will have details of his wanderings.
