I got this pen today

Back on 9/28/17 I bought a Pelikan M805 blue black with M nib and I've been wanting a F nib for it and while shopping I ran across a bunch of m805 Blue Dunes with a F and of course instead of just buying a spare nib unit I ordered a new pen. Must be some sort of 7 year itch thing going on ;) Here they are together.

@Driften, you have chosen well.  Nice pens!

I mostly choose M and F nibs in my fountain pens and enjoy both.  When I'm sketching, organizing details in my planner, or making diagrams, then nothing but a Fine (or Extra Fine) will do.  But then, when I'm doing long-form writing,  a nice, wet Medium is lovely.

Currently most used pen: Lamy 2000, Makrolon <F> -- filled with Lamy Pink Cliff ink

I have pens from Pilot, Sailor, and Platinum with finer nibs so I have bad paper and lines as finer as I like. It's nice to have the Pelikan pens that are on the wider/wetter side. This m805 F (0.50mm-0.55mm) is in-between a Jowo F and M. My m805 M (0.60mm-0.65mm) is in-between a Jowo M and B. Those numbers are for Rhodia and Franklin-Christoph paper with Pelikan inks.

I almost broke down and bought the blue dunes m805 at the SF pen show.  It is a beautiful pen.  Enjoy!

The Pelikan M200 Golden Lapis arrived today, but as it is my birthday gift from my wife, and my birthday isn't until November, I cannot touch the pen. It is under her safe supervision for the moment 😆

Oh danged--I couldn't stand it.  I'd remedy this siuation by going out and buying something today! ha

FWIW at 62 and 66 yrs of age we've pretty much stopped with gifts as we tend to get what we want.

It is my 62d today and tomorrow I will select a place to eat and a record from an Austin area shop.

THat is if we both feel up to it tomorrow---which both having a good day together is getting very arre.

@Pete of Killeen my Dad said the Golden Years are when you give your “gold” to the medical world.

My birthday is close to yours as mine was yesterday.

@Pete of Killeen thank you for the belated wishes.

At the Pelikan Hub, I opted to support the local pen store.  I bought a Retro 51 Winnie the Pooh fountain pen. I’m not a Winnie the Pooh fan per se, but I did get a book in the second grade for reading the most books.  The book I got all those years ago is in the photo with the new pen

Well, it’s been less than 24 hours so I technically got these pens today:

I bought a 2015 Black Pen Society Ariel Kullock Parker “51” from Stewart Hawkinson that caught my eye.

I also won a door prize at the Pelikan Hub to add to my “51” collection: a desk set with a barometer (useful here in the PNW). I love slender desk pens, and had been low key looking for a set that wasn’t a “21.” Now I have to learn how the barometer works.

@Penguincollectoryes, had seafood at salt traders, and found 4 records at Piranha---the latest Japanese Groove Funk volume, a Mogwai, a Black Stone Cherry, and a redo of an old Boris LP.  As a bonus in yesterdays mail was the usaa yearly insurance rebate---that wil go toward another pen I think!!

Belated birthday wishes and I hope you were able to enjoy a nice meal together !!! 🎂

In fairness to my wife, I have splurged so much on pens this year that I have asked her to mind my impulsive pen buying at least until the end of the year 😃
