How's the nib?

It's a factory OM that writes pretty fine, and a little dry (which might be the ink, Noodler's Ottoman Rose). There does not seem to be any flex to it, although the OM configuration does lend itself to a little line variation.

As I write with this pen, it does seem about the perfect size pen for me.

Sorry to be pedantic, but this is a Pelikan 400, not an M400. The "M" designation for piston-filling Pelikan fountain pens came much later.

I'm pleasantly surprised that this managed to get delivered today, just before we head off to a retreat in the mountain for all of next week.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Actually, no. I'm only bringing a ten-pen case with me, and all the slots were already taken.

9 days in total, actually. The (n+1) rule applies. 🙃

Ah, the recess from society with a fountain pen. I can sense the soul cleanse from here!

I had to look that up - the Urban Dictionary entry claims the origin is from the fountain pen community and the example is pen-oriented.

I've been gone for about a week, so you can understand that I might have more than one pen (though they are not all mine, but are in my possession today).

Esterbrook with a 1.1 Stub from Flax Pen

Waterman 452 1/2 - OH my these pens are so much smaller than I anticipated based upon the size of the nib.

The one above came as part of a set complete with the original case.

The one below is perfect except that it needs a new sac and the little ring is broken.

And finally, this one is a Swan pen with a Japanese nib.
