Yeah, the pen is skinny -- thinner than a Parker Vector (very close in diameter to a #2(?) wooden pencil I have that is marked "orientaltrading.

com/ZHOXIN 1221") but a bit longer than the Vector when both are capped.

The pencil was going to be my next item to compare it to, but I wasn’t sure if they were actually close in size. I love these pens, one of my favorite micro collections!

That’s awesome! One of my pen club members coated a Jumbo in a lovely red-black urushi and it’s such a nice pen!

Thanks, wish I had a pen club here in Australia.

I don’t think I will write too much with it, might even stack it in our display.

It is a bit of a novelty, but I hope you do work it into your rotation once in a while. Have you looked for a club in your area lately? I know Aus is gigantic, but a couple of FPN folks based there have mentioned clubs before.

Actually, it arrived yesterday :)

Danish Montblanc no.224 (1940s) with push-button filling system. Quite rare model, I am very glad I bought it.

Nice find!

Now, a question which might seem a bit odd:  how close is the color to that of the Hemingway barrel?

Enjoy!

Medium nib, wet line. There is some difference between vertical and horizontal strokes (a bit like a stub). And nib have some flex.

Nice nib, comparable with german nibs of 1930-50s.

Unfortunately I've never seen a Hemingway. If it helps, the color and material is very similar to a 1920's Parker Duofold "Big Red".

That is an intriguing pen.  I was wondering about the material.  I initially thought it was wood but, looking closer at your photos, I have no idea what it is.  Is it old enough to be a material like bakelite? (I have no idea if fountain pens were ever made of bakelite).

I just bought my first Italian pen today.  We are in Rome and I purchased Stilo Fetti’s new Kings of Rome series pen, their 753 Anco Marzio.  I’m a sucker for wood pens and this is such a beautiful combination of wood and Leonardo’s mango mosaico resin.  The cap ring and other details look even better in person.  I was initially hesitant about a steel nib (I wanted gold) but I think this pen has me opening my mind to the merits of a good, steel nib.  It’s delightfully smooth.

That's a very nice-looking pen, Surlyprof. Is it large? I bought a leonardo Momento a while back and it was stunning but it was also huge and I ended up sending it back. :(

In other news, my M400 Vibrant Orange arrived and it's... well, it's ok. It's pretty but as the Perch review (which I read after ordering the pen) noted, there's two really sparkly strips separated by two muted (dark) strips. Fortunately the cap and barrel strips line up fairly well. Doesn't compare with the Auroloide of my orange Optima, however. Hopefully I'll be more impressed with the Gaudi Cambon I just ordered.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Celluloid was used here.

I love how you can see the dark section through the body material.

Thank you.  It is the size of a Momento Zero.  As much as I love so many of the resins Leonardo uses in their MZGs, I prefer the size of the smaller MZ and Magico.  I can’t get used to the Grande.  It’s just a little too large for my personal preference.

I loved the purple/rose gold Optima.  I didn’t see the orange.

Fend was one of those good, but lesser known German pens. I won this on Ebay today....'60-70's.

My wife spotted one, similar with out the box for more, and I found this with the box for less.

This is with permission of Penboard .de, a '30's Fendomatic, Safety pen made in Milan. My chasing pattern is slightly different.UKdHmwU.jpgSo I will now have two Fend pens.
