@Misfit Pink Camo doesn't need a reason. 👍

It's like some people didn't even watch the Barbie movie...

I certainly didn't watch it.  I might at some point when it stops being on one of the "for pay" channels, but all the ads for it when it first came out just made me cringe (I didn't have a Barbie doll growing up, although I did have a Skipper doll).

Of course I ALSO had an "English uniform" GI Joe action figure -- my brother had a "French uniform" one -- because I was always something of a tomboy.

The Levenger twins arrived in yesterday's mail: a fine nib on the fountain pen, and a dried-up (Schmidt maybe) rollerball refill. The collar on the fountain pen is amazingly intact so I just needed to soak out some dried ink, scrub out the feed and reassemble the pen. I'm now flipping idly through my ink swatch cards trying to decide what to ink up the pen with. I pens inked with: orange (1), red (2), blue (3) blue-black (1), deep purple (1), deep green (1).

Maybe... RO Aussie Gold?

That is a gorgeous set! I do love a purple pen.

I thought it was hilarious. Plus, the art direction, set design, costumes, and, well, everything is just so beautifully done. Treat yourself.

Obviously I keep failing in my resolution to stay away from AliExpress 🤣

New pens and some ink. My inked pen count is creeping up again so won't be putting any of these into rotation immediately.

Found the ink by accident (more dinky too-precious bottles); ina-ho seems like unobtanium but tsukushi is still out there.

  • Jinhao 9019 green demonstrator, medium nib.
  • Jinhao 9016 "orange", fine nib. Looks like tomato cream soup red to me.
  • Majohn Wancai "new mini", fine nib. I like that the cap posts by screwing on top the end of the barrel - an improvement over the "old mini".

Still going to wait till it stops being on a streaming service.  Then I can record it and probably watch it sometime when my husband isn't around (I can't envision him being REMOTELY interested in it -- especially since I'm only marginally interested myself).

My Pilot Custom 823 (F) finally arrived from Japan. It may be the finest nib I own now, I'll have to test it against my Imperial. It's quickly growing on me and I really like it for my bird sketches that I do during class. Filled with Tsuki-yo.

My impression is that the supply of new-old-stock bottles have mostly dried out (so to speak) from Chinese outlets accessible online and/or to shoppers outside the mainland, but it is still somewhat available in India (where, without intending disrespect, I expect it'd sell less well than in mainland China, even though there are both the spending power and all the competition for the consumer dollar in the PRC, when it comes to imported inks).

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

It was a three package day. Two had pens.

The first pen is a Levenger True Writer that the seller called white marble. In addition, I won an auction from the same seller of an Esterbrook 9314-M nib.

And here is the Kaweco Sport Classic in red I ordered for the Chiefs going to the Super Bowl. The other items are all Midori.

I love my red Kaweco Sport Classic and it's broad nib. Have mine inked with Levenger Cardinal Red.

New pen (ink?) Day.

  • OHTO Dude, fine nib, violet. $20 from JetPens.
  • Ferris Wheel Press Carousel, Poison Envy, fine nib, $16 from Dromgoole's. Seems like a cheap pen but it's hard to knock a purple pen, plus the packaging is lovely.

Inks too. Oops.

What is Catfish Cupid's Legion?  Is it a new/LE/exclusive ink?  Or a relabeled one?  Because I'm not familiar with it.

Could be relabeled for all I know, there are so many Noodler's inks...  I got it from Dromgoole's, which has it listed as a limited edition. IIRC you ordered a bottle of Noodler's Christmas Grinch Garnet, yes? Cupid's is a tad more pink than the Grinch Garnet. I'm also including Edelstein Rose Quartz and Noodler's 2023 Dallas Pen Show Valentine in the photo for the sake of comparison. As are all Noodler's on my sample cards, Cupid's is a bit feathery. No shading, no outlining. It's ink. It's pink. That's about all I can say right now :D

Thanks.  It appears to be close enough to Grinch Garnet (as well as some other pink inks I have, like Noodler's Shah's Rose, and maybe Noodler's Qin Shi Huang (which I didn't like and gave away) that I can pass on this one.

Three pens arrived. Oops.

A Hongdian  C1 in bright yellow, a stainless steel Sheaffer No Nonsense ballpoint (which will be a fountain pen by bed time) and a blue Sheaffer 440.

The 440 is in much better shape than the photos showed, I would be happy to use it as is, but will polish it. Does need a clean though - even the cap has ink in it. Is it safe to put that in an ultrasonic? And the section? And the clip is wobbly.

Will work for pens...

A Kaweco AL Sport in Vibrant Violet arrived today. It has an F nib. I put Waterman Tender Purple in a cartridge for the pen. It’s a very pretty color.
