Hello, I'm a newcomer to the fountain pen world and I'm planning on buying a Pilot Metropolitan. To european buyers: does the pen come with a bladder or piston converter included or do I have to buy them seperatly?

Canadian market here: mine came with a cartridge and a squeeze converter. I had to purchase a piston converter separately.

I'm in the US, so I can't say from experience, but there is frequent mention on this sub forum of the MR coming in an EU variant that takes International standard cartridges, rather than the proprietary Pilot carts. I have no idea if that variant comes with a converter, but if it doesn't my pen shopping experience in Austria and Italy would lead me to believe that finding an International converter will be as simple as going to your nearest stationery shop.

The USA market versions come with the CON-B squeeze converter.

**thinking about barrel and cartridge dimensions, I'm not certain a standard International converter would fit in a barrel designed for Pilot carts, you might only be able to fit a Kaweco mini-converter, or custom squeeze convertor?

So many restoration projects...

Pilot Metropolitan in Europe

I remember that problem being also discussed on FPN a long time ago. In Europe you get the Metropolitan MR, outside Europe the Metropolitan. Don't know if that has changed meanwhile.

I can confirm that apparently the Metropolitan has disappeared from EU market (even german Amazon mentioned above, doesn't have it), while the MR2 and MR3 are available, but only in M nib. I have an MR2 on delivery  tomorrow, but from the description in Amazon, it appears only a cartridge is included. The MR Pilots sold in EU are supposed to have the "standard" cartridge ("Pelikan type"). I also had many years ago a Pilot 78 and it had standard cartridge system too.
