Rollerball LeGrand Refills

Disappointed with the refills for my Montblanc Le Grand Rollerball. Refill seems to skip as I’m writing. Is this a common issue with Montblanc LeGrand refills? I love the pen itself but just not happy with the skipping issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yes, I have, my solution was to migrate to Legrand Fineliner refills, unfortunately they are available only in broad, but they are very good, the line thickness it's equivalent to a 0.6 Uni Pin Fine Line.

And here we have a brand new Montblanc medium rollerball refill (no old stock) skipping:

Perfect example of the issue I’m getting with my Rollerball. Thanks for the suggestion of a Fineliner refill. I’ve ever used one of those so worth a try.

CeruleanToAzure, thank you for this writing sample, which is, frankly speaking, shocking.  Up until now I thought skipping and hard starts were the bane of only stricken fountain pen nibs, and I’ve yet to experience a fountain pen that skips this frequently.

If I had a Montblanc RB refill writing that badly I would be straight back to Montblanc for a replacement

Have a read of this thread, this is subject that seems to get raised often and maybe worth 'sticking' for those who have the dark skills to do so ?

I have been using the LR7 refills for sometime now and they have served me well.
