Could this Sonnet nib be italic? Or customized? Or is it just me?

The Sonnet 18K nibs followed the same numbering system as the 18K Duofold nibs.

This might help.

Found it: https://parkerpens.net/codekey.html

94 Medium Italic 14k
95 Broad Italic 14k

But the one discrepancy is that my nib is 18k

I have an "94" nib on one of my Duofolds. It is a an Arrow-style 18K Nib.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen anything other than an 18K on a Sonnet(for gold nibs obviously, I know there are steel nibs), although by no means do I know a ton about them.

For that matter, I'm not sure if there have been any 14K Parker nibs made since production moved entirely to France. I'm pretty sure all of my modern gold-nibbed Parkers are 18K.

There is one version of the Sonnet with a 14K nib, at least.

A little update...

I ordered another Sonnet, from a reliable online shop, because I wanted to know what a Sonnet nib was supposed to be like. And this new second new pen writes beautifully compared to the first one. It's an entirely different experience.

It also has a different bend to the nib, which I was very curious about. Are all Sonnet nibs this shape, bending slightly forward like this? There are a lot of little differences between these two nibs, both marked M (but as some have pointed out the earlier one must have been custom ground or something).

The pen on the left (red and black, aka firedance) is the newly acquired one (c1997), the pen on the right (white and black, aka moonbeam) is the one I started this thread about (c1993).

Would love to have people's thoughts about the nib differences, especially the bend on the new one. Apologies again for any errors I'm making, I'm not very knowledgeable and have much to learn.
