Pens with giant (bigger than #6) nibs?

I have a MB 149 and love it! What are some other pens that have nibs that are bigger than the standard #6? I am aware of the Sailor King of Pen nibs, the Pilot custom Urishi, some Conid pens, and the Montegrappa Extra. Are there any other options, perhaps at a more reachable price point? Nib material need not be gold.

Ranga makes oversized pens that can be fitted with a Bock #8 Ti nib. These would probably be among the most affordable of the larger nib pens.

The Pelikan M1000 is one that you left off your initial list: big, springy nib, but not exactly cheap.

Onoto will customise their Magna pens with a #8 nib I believe. You also have the Namiki Emperor pens with a very large #50 nib. I accept, though, that none of these are low in cost. I suggest your best value option might be to have a look at a vintage Parker Duofold Maxima with a #50 nib. Not huge but quite large and easily found for under £100.

sorry, edited to add the Maxima nib is probably more akin to a size 6 nib so may not fit your criteria. Still a nice pen though 😊

I'll add the caveat that I have very few pens with Bock, etc #6 nibs.

With that said, nib sizing is not necessarily standard across manufacturers and I'm pretty sure a Montblanc #6, as found on the 146, is larger. The Pelikan M800 has a very similar size nib to the 146, and the Duofold Centennial(which is roughly the same size as the above two) seems to me to have a decently large nib. I've not measured that one either.

A lot of vintage pens can have big nibs-some bigger than contemporary nibs.

I have an MB146 nib in a Bock #6 housing/feed.  Works just fine.  Pelikan M800 nib is marginally shorter than a Bock #6, same base width.  Contemporary Western nibs are, for the most part, #5 or #6, with an occasional #8. There are also many Chinese models that will take a #5/6 nib.  Jowo/Bock/Schmidt; sometime a little encouragement is required.

I havent tried moving #8s around.  MB/Pelikan/Bock.  Jowo also makes a #8.

Add lightness and simplicate.
