Nice review.  I don't have any pens that flex that much.  But I do really really like Smoky Quartz, especially in the 1990s era M400 Brown Tortoise, with it's springy and wet F nib.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Great ink for sure. But I ask myself if the use of a flex-pen -- which does and/or can lay down a nice amount of ink to get the "depth" of it all -- results in an un-nice amount of show-through/bleeding....

No bleed at all... :)
One of the reasons I love this SODF Flex-nib Unit so much...It lays down the ink wide and thin...
(EDIT: don't mind the scribble on the left-side of the pic...had to edit out some data)

One of the things I love about this SODF Nib unit. I can go from XXF to BB at will. :D
Smoky Quartz was the first dry brown ink I ever had. I purchased it to attempt to tame a Penbbs-456 that ran so wet it would dump ink on the page when writing. It worked for that pen, but I wound up returning the pen to stock and giving it to my wife. I just didn't like the shape of the thing...and it had a bad habit of bleeding out the butt when filling....ugh.
The ink is marvelous though. :)  I'm very happy to enjoy it once again after so long...

Nice one @Detman101 I mostly enjoyed the combo of teddy bear with chocolate chip cookie... ;) 😛

Hehehe...thank you! This ink brings back all those warm lovely feelings. Chocolate cookies and hot chocolate cuddled up in bed with a nice plush warm teddy bear. Winter fun...hehehe.
I even considered wearing my chocolate brown vest this morning but ran out of time on the way out the door after reloading the pen with this ink. 😛

One of my favourite brown inks, and it looks really gorgeous in that flex nib. With truly great behaviour - I too had expected lots of bleed-through, but no such thing. That’s simply amazing.

Thanks.  I now not only like the ink (since its birth) but also your pen. A good recommendation!

Yep, it's got great consistency when it's in the right pen. Real good stuff! It's just dry enough to do what you need, while wet enough to still lay down good on the paper.
