Deccan Masterpiece, Gama Masterpiece

Sharing some pics. The Deccan is the one on the left and the Gama on the right. The Deccan has seen extensive use  with Diamine Registrar’s, so much so, that the nib has lost all its plating. The Gama has seen little use. Both pens are stock as purchased. No modifications at my end. you can see the attention to details on the Deccan.

Nice pics, nice pen. Is this pen approximately the same length and thickness as gama supreme?

I had contacted Deccan pens recently for ebonite masterpiece model - they did not have any. They said thick ebonite is difficult to obtain.

Woodex has a similar model (I do not have the pen, but saw pics that Mr. Narasimha sent).

thank you for sharing. I too have Gamas and Deccans in similar models, and find over time I tend to prefer the Deccans.

The devil is in the details... at the moment, I have five Deccans inked and in use, and one Gama.

I also seen the photo sent by Narsimha but couldn't find it in my phone. It's price is 2700/-. Can you tell me the model No please?

Whenever a shop has no stock, any shop, they have a stock of excuses why they don’t have it. That’s a fact. While growing up in Pune, if you asked a shop why they don’t have xyz model, they would cooly answer that the model has been stopped by the company. Hehe.

My supremes are quite old. You want to compare the cigar shaped supreme or flat top?

I bought an acrylic (demonstrator) Jumbo from Asa. That's the one that's inked. The Deccans are my now four Advocates, plus the Author.

ASA calls it the Galactic I believe. Advocate is a solid choice. I have one continuously inked for several years now. Fitted with a gold nib. They no longer make the Authors like they used to. I have stored away my examples. Take care of your Author. Do post a pic to show how it has aged if you wish

The Galactic I have is made of matte translucent acrylic, while the Gama Jumbo is clear. Otherwise, yes they are virtually the same.

Thanks for the warning about the Author. I am not quite sure when I bought it, but I think it must have been 2014 or so. I am very careful with it - the material seems so fragile, especially the cap. @ some point I will try to take a picture. But actually, the pen looks the same as the day I got it. (except the nib has ink on it.) It lives on my desk, away from direct sunlight, and never leaves the house. But at home, it does get put to work.

Yeah. I have the clear Gama version. I called it the Himadri for the lack of a proper name for it from Gama. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/254169-the-gama-supreme/?do=findComment&comment=2997521

yup that's the pen. Though mine is not so clean at the moment, having been continuously inked for at least the last six months. Interestingly, my nib is two tone but the colors are reversed compared to yours (i.e. silver on top, gold below. An ordinary Iridium Point Germany nib. If I remember correctly, this is the one that got cloudy (where the ink goes) and I could never get it so nicely polished again...

Thanks for the comparison Hari. Both pens look wonderful. I have a Gama Supreme, and it feels slightly heavier to me. Otherwise would have loved to go for their Masterpiece model.

Also had a chat with Mr.Narsimha(Woodex pens) regarding a larger/jumbo model 4, but they said they can't make one right now. So I went for the regular model 4.

I also bought a model 39. Once I receive the pen I will share the details here. And Mr.Narsimha gave me 10% discount on the pens, even though I didn't know about it and didn't even ask him for any. That was very nice of him. In case anyone wants to try out a woodex pen this would be a good time :)

Thanks. It was your post, and all the details that you shared in it about woodex pens, which made me buy these pens. Thank you so much for all the help.
