😀 that means I have been successful. There are several Indian pens in the model 15 form factor, but none have the hourglass section. Also each Woodex is perfectly engineered. All have working inner caps and accurately and appropriately placed cap breather holes. They also believe is very tight nib feed fitting. All good things.

I have purchased a few more ordinary pens that I spotted in their catalog, let's see how they turn out.

Best

Hari

Yes, Mr.Prabhakar's pen turning is absolutely top notch. I have barred my random buying habit since last year. It's really difficult though. Otherwise I have a long list of Woodex pen is waiting. Please show the other purchases asap.

Sharing with you a few pictures of the pens I got from Woodex. I liked the overall design and clip design of this pen. The nib is Ambitious fine.

Another model with MB nib - ambitious fine.

This nib writes quite well -  a soft extra-fine line.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. This is the woodex 31 isn’t it? The clip is good. Gama used to have a model called the airborne or something like that using the same clip. https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/269119-gamas-homage-to-the-skyline/

I have been considering this model. Thank you so much for sharing the real life images. This is the woodex 43 I suppose. This model and a few more are later additions and are not in the pdf catalog.

Yes, the 43 is new model, not in pdf catalogue - I lost track of numbers!

I think Woodex may be having the most diverse designs among the pen-makers..

Quite true and it’s good they have model numbers. Much easier to keep track in place of terms like jumbo super jumbo etc. Ratnamson, WALITY/ airmail, Ranga and Woodex in addition to camlin etc have well defined model numbers so you know what you are buying.

A nice looking pen indeed! Is the nib folded or tipped?

It’s folded. Same on my nib too.  Ambitious makes tipped MB nibs too. I have some stocks will show if I replace.

@Sagarb@hari317

Is there any disadvantage of folded nibs?

I have seen schneider pens with folded nibs. Folded nibs are wet writers for the pens I have used.

Why do people prefer folded tips (if they do) and tipped nibs (if they do)?

Nibs are made of alloyed steel or gold alloys or titanium alloys or silver alloys or platinum alloys. None of these materials are particularly resistant to abrasion. The act of writing is an act of abrading the nib tip against paper. If the tip of the nib has to retain the shape given to it at the factory it must be made out of a very wear resistant material. These materials are special alloys. Available as spherical balls which is welded to the nib at the tip. These balls are costly. So a cheaper nib can be made by rolling or folding or spoon shaping the tip of the nib itself. No welding of a ball is involved. Such nibs wear out fast and won’t last you long. It’s ok for school pens where the nib can get damaged any way due to abuse. I don’t think anyone would prefer a folded nib over a tipped nib but for cost reasons.

Thank you...

Approximately how long would a folded nib last if it is written with for several hours a day? Would it last several months?

Model 25 looks cute and writes well; I like it.

Model #3:

Model #3 is similar in dimensions to model #4.

The body is streamlined; cap opens smoothly in 3-4 turns; the section is very comfortable to hold due to it's hour-glass design. The pen writes very well (KW medium nib). Nibs were tuned well by the manufacturer.

Wouldn't it be great if there were pinned threads for each pen-maker in which whoever is interested can contribute pictures of their favourite pen from that particular brand?
