It is too soon to think about Christmas.

Agreed.

Besides, the worst thing about Christmas season is the tyranny of Christmas colors. Red, Green, Silver, White....YUCK

I agree with the excitement of 25 new colors to try. I also enjoyed the ingenius play on the classic chocolate filled Advent calendar from my childhood. This red edition will most definitely be included in my letter to Santa this year.

I see (pre-orders of) the Diamine Inkvent Red Edition product has now been specifically excluded from the 10%-off brand-wide discount that is still ongoing.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Here! I'll get one, preordered it from my favourite store here in Berlin (Moranga, for the locals, as they do not have an online store).

The last one in 2019 was a loooot of fun, and while, yeah, it is darn expensive for what it is, getting a coffee to go or eating out every day would cost me more, and I know a lot of people who do that regularly. So, for 25 days of inky fun that I treat myself to during hectic advent time, this is going to be my selfish personal gift to ... myself. ☺️

Sounds like the rest of ‘us’ here are in for a treat, then! You make such an art of displaying your inks on the page at their best. 😃

Sounds like fair challenge to repeat my 2019 project! 🙃 I have to admit that I held back from selling pens for now so that 25 nice writers are left for December, as I like to have inks I am trying out (and showing) in pens for a while instead of just dipping. Among those are mainly broad (incl. music or zoom) or (custom fine/medium to broad) italic nibs and some Pilot Parallel Pens that all show ink colours nicely. So, yeah, I really am looking forward to the end of the year.

Oh, and of course: Thank you for your compliment! ☺️

Yep.  I did it.  I ordered mine.  I wanted to get one last year, but by the time I tried to order, no one had them.  I confess that I am not much of a shimmer person, but I thought I would give it a try.

You'd be pleased(?) to know that nobody else managed to get one for Christmas 2020. 😜

Yes.  I do mean 2019. Last year was a fog.

If this calendar would have, let's say, three inks hidden among a fully chocolate filled rest (the same 30mL chocolate, each) ... oh, oh, it would ensnare me ... 😇

One life!

Ah, I haven't noticed and haven't been notified by Cult Pens that the product is in stock now, or that my order has been shipped. At the current levels of unreliable postal delivery performance, especially on the part of Australia Post, I suppose I may receive it by the end of October?

As you typed, I went and revised my numbers.  I confess, I've acquired more than one bottle of of the Blue Edition inks and I've loved the crazy bottle and I adore the ink.  Do I think that Winter Miracle (blue edition) is worth $2.50 a bottle more than Sargasso Sea?  (a standard ink).  Well, I think the answer is yes because I own 3 bottles of DWM and 2 bottles of DSS.

You are right in that you are paying for the packaging, but you are also paying for trying inks that you would never buy in large bottles.  I think that's a pretty cool experience.  Now, let's look at it from another cost factor.  At Goulet the cost for a Diamine standard ink 2ml sample is $1.75 and the shimmer inks are $2.  So, for the new Red Edition inks we would be looking at 3 Goulet Samples / one REd sample so that REd small bottle would cost $5.25.  That means that this calendar is a bargain at $90 when the ink samples (instead of whole bottles) would cost you $131.25.

You are correct that you aren't buying this package for the budget conscious.  On a budget the Diamine standard inks are a great buy.    This experience is about 25 new inks.

The experience is also likely about CUTE.

....still wants Diamine bottle with those little legs...

I got mine from Cult Pens. So I expect you’ll get yours soon.

The briefest of summaries.

The calendar is about 11" x 17" and was shipped in a cardboard box that fits perfectly.  I would bet Diamine sent the calendars in these boxes to the retailers.  The front has 25 windows that can be opened.  Behind each is a bottle of ink.  1-24 are 12 ml bottles and the 25th is 25 ml.  Instead of opening the doors, I cheated and simply opened the box and slid out the plastic tray.

The 12 ml bottles are completely encased in shrink-wrapped plastic and require a knife to unpeel.  No way is ink going to spill in shipping.

I used a glass pen and a q-tip in an attempt to capture the 25 colors.  All except the large bottles are labelled Standard (which I've appreviated to ST) Sheen (SN) and Shimmer (SH).

First impression?  I prefer the 2019 Inkvent.
