TWSBI Eco T leaks into cap

Hi all,

 

I've just acquired an Eco T (medium nib) and the ink (both Waterman Serenity Blue and Montblanc Royal Blue) seems to leak in blobs into the cap. The feed seems to get extremely wet.

 

Is this a common issue with the design? I can see it gradually offsetting the large ink capacity - maybe this happens with most pens, but I can actually see it happening with a demonstrator cap.

 

I really like the nib though, perfect with good feedback straight out of the box.

If your Eco is new and you haven't played with it, the most likely explanation for this (I suspect) is that the feed has come a bit loose within the grip section.  It might be worth holding nib and feed between your thumb and forefinger, and seeing if applying firm (but gentle) pressure towards the back of the pen helps to resolve this.

I'm glad you resolved it.  My two Eco's are great and extremely reliable writers.  I had one inked up for over a year, writing with it only on occasion and it would write immediately everytime.

If you’ve just filled the pen, the feed will be over saturated and will dump ink if you cap it. Let off a few drops back into the bottle by screwing the piston, then screw the piston back with the nib up.
