Easy composition book cover

I use grid paper composition books as my annual planners.  I made a notebook cover from a file folder.

Just lay the notebook in the file folder and fold the file folder like we did with book covers back in the 60's. Trim and tape the inner corners, and trim the sharp edges to be rounded.

I've found comp book paper to be the cheapest, most readily available fountain-pen-friendly paper.  I learned that here, BTW, and thank you!

I've always disliked the marble covers of comp books but love the paper. Now I don't look like I'm carrying the cheap, grade-school notebook I'm actually carrying.

Very cool.  Really like the blue.  What size file folder did you use?  (I'm presuming you were covering the standard 9-3/4" x 7-1/2" size composition books.

I'll admit that the "marbled" covers on standard composition books don't bother me all that much, as long as they're in different colors so I can tell them apart.  But at the moment one of my favorite ones (I think I got it either at a dollar store or at some "back to school" sale) is the current poetry journal.  It's made in Brazil for a company called Norcom (so I might have gotten it at someplace like Target or Walmart) and has a grey and black herringbone design.

Let us know how well they file folder holds up in the long run.

For Ruth, the comp book size is standard I think, at 7.5" x 9.75".  The file folder is also standard at 9" x 11.75 closed, excluding the tab.  Office Max has grid and lined notebooks that don't have the marble cover, so I probably won't cover my 2022 book.

I think I read here that the comp books from Egypt and Vietnam could be counted on for FP friendly paper. Those origin countries are frankly all I've found among my 3 years using them.
